Ch28: If There Was Someone Selling Drugs Inâ This Place, Weed Know
"What are you-" she begins saying, but immediately stops when she spots the poster and Alex.
"Surprise," I grin.
"What....I....Alex?" She mumbles and before he can say anything the hallway is filled with teenagers giggling and cheering.
"Say something Taylor," I whisper giving her a small shove forward.
"What do you say?" Alex smiles making his way towards her.
"I. . ." She looks around. "You did this for me?"
"I did," he nods and I can see the pizza box shaking.
He's so nervous.
"Yes," she whispers.
"What did you say?" Someone from the crowd yells and I laugh.
"Yes," Taylor grins before hugging Alex. "I said yes."
And my job as a best friend is done.
"You got me pizza," I hear Taylor yell, but they're consumed by the crowd and I can'tâ find them anymore.
I'm happy for them.
Taylor and Alex.
Me and Josh. . .
We just need to find grouchy Vincent a date.
"Hey," a voice says and I turn to see Mick. "I see our plan worked."
"Of course it did," I smile and then I spot Pipper looking like he just got punched in the stomach.
I am a terrible friend, how could I forget about Pipper?
"Pipper," I yell as I make my way through the crowd, but he's already walking out of the hallway through the back exit going towards the student parking lot.
"Pipper," I continue yelling as I exit the hallway only a few steps behind him and I see him standing against a wall talking with Van-fucken-cocaine snorting-essa.
I quickly hide behind a wall and watch them.
Not creepy at all, right?
"Bratt said I could get it from you," I hear Vannesa say. "And I'm almost out Pipper. I really need some more."
"I'm not doing that anymore," Pipper says. "I'm trying to get better and-"
"Better for who?" Vanessa hisses. "For your best friend that's all over the hottie boys or for your crush who's going to the banquet with one?"
"Shut up," he rolls his eyes. "Just stay way from me."
"No," she grabs his arm. "I need this Pipper. You're going to give it me. I'll pay you twice as much."
"It's not about the money," he says.
"I've seen your house," she chuckles. "You can use the money."
"It's not about the money," Pipper glares at her. "It's about the fact that I'm clean and I want to stay that way."
"You're not clean Pipper," She laughs. "I know a friend of mine when I see one. You're using. It's just not cocaine anymore."
"Don't be stupid," he says and I can tell he's getting nervous.
Oh my God, Pipper is still using drugs?
But he was clean and he's going to support group.
"What are you using Pipper?" She asks. "Heroine? Ecstasy? Mushrooms? Meth?"
"OxyContin," he answers and I feel my heart drop straight into a pit in my stomach.
"Oxy," she laughs. "I never took you for an Oxy type. I definitely thought it was meth. . .Anyways I just want to buy my small bag and go on my way."
"I'm not selling," he says.
"Well, Bratt seems to see that differently," she glares at me. "He said only you can to sell to me."
"Fine," he shoves his hand in his pocket. "This is the only time I'm selling to you. Find someone else to do it."
"Okay," she nods as he hands her a small black zipper bag.
"Money?" He asks and she hands him a ball of crunched up dollar bills. "This is the only time Vanessa. Find someone else."
"Of course," she grins before walking off and I hide further behind the wall feeling completely disappointed.
How could I have been such a terrible friend?
This is my fault.
I should'veâ been there for him.
"Elliana," a voice yells and I stand up looking around for Pipper, but he's gone.
Damn it, should I have confronted him?
"Elliana," Alex appears, a huge grin on his face.
"What's wrong?" He asks. "Why are you out here by yourself?"
"I. . .Um. . .I," I mumble. "I just needed some fresh air."
"You've always been a terrible liar," he wraps his arm around my shoulder. "Are you sad because you just lost your friend?"
Wow, that pretty much sums it up.
Did he hear Pipper and Van-fucken-cocaine snorting-essa?
"Yes," I answer giving him a strange look.
"Don't worry," he pats the top of my head. "Taylor won't take me away from you."
Oh.
He scared the hell out of me.
"Of course not," I say. "I know getting rid of you won't be that easy."
"Shut up," he shoves me playfully.

"Put the cups near the soda and drinks," Mick tells Taylor and she nods before going into the kitchen.
"Where is Pipper?" I ask causally while setting the chip bowls on the dinner table.
We're all helping Mick set everything up for his party and Pipper is no where to be seen.
I really just need to see him.
Make sure he's okay.
"He'll be here in a few," Mick says a few seconds before the door opens and Pipper walks in. "Speak of the devil."
"Pipper," I smile running to hug him. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine Bair," he chuckles. "You're not the hugging type so something must be going terribly wrong."
"No," I push him playfully. "I just needed to hug my best friend."
"Right," he nods. "Well, your best friend is perfectly fine."
No he's not.
Should I ask him about it?
No, not right now.
"I'm glad," Taylor comes out the kitchen. "He was angry at me earlier."
"I was just in a bad mood," he defends himself. "I wasn't angry."
"Right," she nods.
"People should start arriving soon," Mick says an excited look on his face. "The alcohol is in the kitchen, right?"
"Yes," Taylor nods.
"Everything else is set," he smiles. "Good job team."

I can hear the music blasting away as I step out the restroom.
"You look great," Taylor says spotting me from the top of the stairs.
I fixed myself up a little from my casual school outfit. I changed into a nice off the shoulder blouse with some tight light jeans and black high heeled boots.
I threw my hair into a nice high bun and put on a bit of makeup with some light pink lipstick.
"Thank you," I smile. "You look great too."
He long red hair is in a pretty french braid and she's wearing a beautiful blue romper with some black sandals.
She's not wearing anything on her face except mascara and some clear gloss.
"You both fix up nice," a voice says and we turn to see Pipper holding a bright red cup in his hand.
"That better be juice Pipes," Taylor warns and he laughs.
"Of course," he chuckles.
"Let's go down stairs," I smile and they both nod.
"We shall," he extends his arms out to both of us and interlock arms with him before walking down the stairs.
"You're a fool," I laugh as he escorts us down the stairs.
"Look at you two," Mick smiles. "Looking as good as ever."
"Thank you," we both say.
"Let's dance," Pipper suggest and I slowly take my arm away.
"I'm gonna get something to drink," I tell them before disappearing into the crowd and heading towards the kitchen.
"I like that you failed to invite your roommates to your party," a voice says and I turn to see a pair of cold green eyes.
I can tell he's buzzed due to his red face and slightly slurred speech.
"It's not my party," I walk into the kitchen.
"Everyone sure thinks it is," he states walking behind me. "I know it's not your party because you're always too sad about your sister to have any kind of fun."
Did he just?
"Excuse me," I turn to look at him.
"Yeahhhhh," he nods. "You're all dark and twisty about Lilo's death that you don't have any fun."
"Shut up," I glare at him. "I get that you're all dark and twisty about what happened in Los Angeles, but you don't get to be an asshole to me. . . Everyone puts up with your shit because they care about you, but I'm done."
"Great," he chuckles. "You'll finally leave me the hell alone."
"Screw you Vincent," I yell at him before storming out the kitchen.
As soon as I step out I crash into a hard body.
"You okay?" I look up to see Alex.
"Yeah I'm fine," I push the hair out my face. "I think I'm just gonna go home."
"Need a ride?" He asks.
"I'll take her," a voice says and I turn to see Josh. "What's wrong?"
"Vincent's being an ass," I exhale.
"Why do you care so much about what he does?" Josh asks. "All day you've been going on and on about him."
"I don't need you adding shit onto my plate," I glare at him. "You're already lying to me."
"I'll take you home," Alex says and I nod.
"Yeah I'd like that," I say while glaring at Josh who's glaring back at me.
"Let me get my things," he says and I nod.
"Elliana," Pipper runs up to me wrapping his arm around my shoulder. "I see you extended the invitation out to your boyfriend."
"I didn't invite him," I say. "He came all on his own."
"So did I," a voice interjects and it's Vincent. "Is there a problem?"
"What if there is?" I ask loudly.
"You're defending the junkie?" Vincent laughs. "I've always told you he's more trouble than he's worth."
"Pipper isn't a junkie," Taylor says as she comes towards us. "He's clean."
"More like he's evolved," Vincent chuckles. "Bye bye Cocaine. Hello oxy."
"What is he talking about?" Taylor asks.
"How do you know that?" I ask Vincent.
"Elliana you knew?" Taylor glares at me. "Why didn't you say anything?"
"I just found out," I say. "I didn't have time to tell you or talk to Pipper about it."
"It's not true," Pipper says. "They're lying."
"Elliana would not lie about this," Josh shakes his head. "If she says Pipper is using then he's using."
"No, I'm clean," he shakes his head. "I haven't used."
"Pipper," I look at him. "I say you and Vanessa."
"Its not true Tay," he turns to look at her. "I made you a promise and I've kept my word."
"Hey," Alex says joining the group. "What's going on?"
"Why would you make something up like this?" Taylor frowns at me.
"I'm not," I scoff. "I saw him talking to Vanessa about drugs. He's using Taylor."
"Talking about drugs doesn't mean using drugs," Pipper glares at me. "Why didn't you just ask me? I would've told you everything. . .Except you're always so busy with your roommates you don't have time for anyone else."
"That's not true," I say. "I make time for you. Besides you admitted to using Oxy."
"You heard wrong," he exclaims. "I'm not using anything."
"Why would you acuse him without any proof Elliana?" Taylor glares at him.
"I should go," Pipper says and Taylor nods.
"Let's go," Taylor says. "Come on Alex."
Everyone turns to look at Alex and he looks like he's completely paralyzed.
"It's okay," I say. "You can go with her. I won't be mad."
"No," he shakes his head. "If you heard him then he's lying. . .Taylor Elliana would not lie about this. She's trying to help Pipper."
"Fine," she glares at him. "Stay here then. Come on Pipper let's go."
She glared directly at me before they walked off both looking furious.
"Seriously," I turn to look at Vincent. "You had to open you're huge ass mouth."
"What?" He shrugs. "It's not my fault he's a junkie. Besides I heard the whole conversation with Vanessa."
"You're an ass," I shove him
