Ch24: Bad Boy? More like Momma's Boy!
"I think he'll like it," I say as we stare at the dark blue Tang swim around in the tank.
"You think so," he says looking at the fish unsurely. "His favorite color is red."
"Okay then," I walk towards the next fish tank and spot a small red fish with big oversized eyes swimming crazily around the tank. "What about this one?"
"I don't know," he exhales.
"I'm getting this one," I huff. "You're impossible to please."
"Of course I am," he winks at me.
"Stupid twatface," I roll my eyes.
"I'm gonna go look for some cool rocks," he says before walking away.
We're currently at a fish store filled with hundreds of fish tanks with salt water fishes and corals. Vincent thought I'd be a good idea to surprise Josh with some cool new stuff for his science fair project because it was all due next week. I thought so and we ended up here.
I noticed that after Vincent told me everything he started acting different. More open about how he feels.
Like he'll actually laugh once in a while and be in a good mood. Not like before where all he did was glare or smirk.
Although, I was left with one glaring questions; does he love Janet?
I don't know if I'll even known the answer, but I'd like to.
"Can I help you?" A voice asks and I turn to see Mick. "Elliana, what are you doing here?"
"Buying a fish," I smile. "I didn't know you worked here."
"Yeah," he nods. "I like fishes their pretty cool."
"Can I get this red one?" I smile. "I like the black smudged eyeliner look it has going on and the black stripe that goes it's back. It's looks like a rockstar."
"The Flame Hawkfish," he says. "I got it, I'll be right back with a bag."
"Thanks Mick," I smile as he walks off.
"Look what I got," Vincent comes speed walking excitedly towards me. "Was that Mick?"
"Yeah," I nod. "So what you get?"
"This," he raises a transparent bag and I see a small purple anemone. "I think Josh will like it."
"Okay," I hear Mick says before he comes walking down the hall with a small green net, a stool, and a transparent bag filled with water.
He sets the stool down in front of the tank and gets on it. Then he puts the net in the water and within a few seconds manages to catch the scared fish before shoving him carefully into the bag.
"There you go," he ties the bag and hands it to me. "One Flame Hawkfish."
"Don't you go to school Mick?" Vincent asks and Mick nods.
"Yeah," he says. "I was just called in today to see if I could cover a shift and I need the money. One day of school never hurt anybody."
"Thanks Mick," I grin. "I'll see you around."
"See you around," he waves before disappearing around the corner.

"Why MMA?" Vincent asks and I shrug.
"I didn't like soccer," I chuckle. "I sucked at basketball and cheerleading was just frustrating to me. So I joined MMA when Lilo found this gym."
"I can't picture you as a cheerleader," he says and I smile.
"I wasn't a very good one," I tell him. "I use to always get benched for having a bad attitude. Or one time for yelling at a referee because he made a bad call."
"You've always had an attitude problem," he chuckles.
"It's my asshole repellent," I grin.
"It didn't keep me away" He says.
"I'm still in the process of using it against you," I glare at him. "You're just one persistent grass ass."
"We're almost there," he says and I nod.
So we're currently on our way to Los Angeles.
Why?
Well, Vincent's determined to find out more about Janet while paying a small visist to his mom.
I volunteered to come along.
Actually, I was simply told to get in the car and ten minutes into the drive he told me where we were going. So, I didn't have much choice in the matter.
But I'd like to say I would've volunteered.
Well, actually I would have kindly rejected the offer and suggested we stay home.
We had already gotten home to drop the fish and anemone off in a small tank until I'd surprise Josh.
I'm actually quite excited to surprise him with the gift.
But here we are in Sirius Black driving towards Los Angeles.
And I still have that stupid glaring question in my head; does he love Janet?
I should ask him, right?
Whatever it's too late for him to get rid me of me now.
"Do you love her?" I spit out and he gives me a confused look. "Janet, do you love her?"
"Took you long enough," he exhales and I smile sheepishly.
"Sorry," I say.
"I don't know," he says. "I pushed her and everything that came with her as far down as I could. So, I don't know."
That wasn't the answer I expected.
"I guess you'll find out today," I tell him and he nods keeping his eyes on the road.
That's your cue to shut up Elliana.

"This is where I use to live," he says and I nod.
We're in front of an apartment complex that looks like it could be cleaned up a bit. The walls are tagged and there's trash everywhere. Although, if it was simply cleaned it would be a very nice building.
"Isn't it dangerous that we're here?" I ask. "With them looking for you and all."
"A little," he says "but don't worry they probably think I'm never coming back here."
"Okay," I say nervously.
"Let's go inside," he says before walking into the building through a glass door. I take a deep breath before following him inside.
The inside of the building is beautiful. The floor is a nice wooden tile and the walls are a bright blue with strange swirls carved into the edges. Above us a large chandelier and at the left side of the room is a silver shiny elevator door.
"Come on," he goes towards the elevator and pressed the button.
"This is pretty," I say in awe and he nods.
"It's the only decent thing my father left us," he shrugs.
The elevator open and we steps inside before he pushed the second floor button. As the elevator goes up I start to feel nervous.
What if his mom hates me?
Oh god, what if the gang is waiting for him outside his house?
Damn it, what the hell did I get myself into?
Well, what the hell did Vincent get me into?
The elevator opens and we step out. I immediately follow Vincent as he begins walking towards the left side of the hallway.
The hallways are painted the exact same blue as the lobby, but the floor is covered with a light brown carpet making it look a lot more cozy.
"Door ninety-five," Vincent exhales as he stops in front of a dark brown door with the golden number ninety-five on it.
"Just knock," I say and he stands there unable to move. "Do you want me to do it?"
"No," he shakes his head before raising his hand, but before he can knock he drops it. "Yes, please."
"Okay," I nod taking a deep breathe before knocking on the door and I can hear Vincent slightly gasp.
"Coming," a women's voice yells and after a few seconds the door opens.
"Mom," Vincent says, his voice cracking giving away the overwhelming emotion he's feeling.
