She looked at Belindaâs delicate face. She was a real looker, but not the sharpest tool in the shed.
âYouâre great, just not his cup of tea.â
Belinda blinked, âHuh? So whatâs his type then?â
Ellinor said, âYou donât need to worry about what heâs into. You donât need to try to charm him anymore because me and Theo are a thing now.â
Belinda looked surprised. âEllinor You and Theo are back together? When did this happen?â
Ellinor nodded, glanced at the time, then towards the Blanchet Corporationâs front door, âYesterday.â
Belinda said. âSo itâs just been a day? But making up is a good thing I can breathe easy for now, otherwise, I was worried Theo might fall into depression.â
Ellinor responded, âYou might be exaggerating how fragile Theo is. Even if we didnât make up, heâs a grown man. He wouldnât wallow in self pityâ
Belinda said eamestly, âHe wouldâ He really would. Ellinor, Theo cares about you a lot; trust me.
Without you, heâd be depressed. So, promise me you wonât leave him again.â
Ellinor still thought Belinda was overdoing it. She propped her cheek on her arm on the table, gazing at the Blanchet Building, lost in thought.
She didnât doubt her place in Theoâs heart, but sometimes she felt puzzled.
Their first encounter was dramatic and discordant; she never imagined theyâd end up in a romantic relationship.
Belinda suddenly leaned in closer, âUm⦠Ellinor, since you and Theo are back together, could you maybe help me out?â
Ellinor snapped back to reality, turning to look at Belinda, âHelp with what?â
Belinda blushed, âI want to be with your friend, and you seem to know his taste in women. Could you help me win him over?.
âCough, cough.â Ellinor almost choked on nothing, looking at Belinda with confusion.
Belinda couldnât understand why Ellinor was looking at her so surprised; she already felt embarrassed, and this just made her feel more awkward.
âWhatâs wrong, Ellinor?â
It took Ellinor a moment to recover. She frowned, âNothing, what do you see in Chase?â
Belinda thought of him and unconsciously had a love-struck expression, âHeâs hot! He smiles a lot, and itâs really cute and refreshing. Heâs patient and always gentle when talking to staff. Heâs totally my dream guy! Ellinor, honestly, the moment I saw Chase, I was already leaning towards him. If you really married Chase, I would even understand why you dumped Theoâ
Ellinor pinched the bridge of her nose, âThatâs because you donât know the real Chase. I suggest you find someone else, Chase isnât for you!â
Belinda looked confused, âWhy? Ellinor, do you think Iâm not good enough for your friend?â
Ellinor replied, âNo, youâre more than enough for him; heâs not good enough for you.â
She wasnât intentionally belittling her friend. Chase was great in every aspect except love.
Every girl who dated him ended up deeply hurt.
Belinda shook her head. âHeâs so hot, how could he not be good enough for me? Ellinor, please, could you help me win him over? I really like him.â
Ellinor didnât know how to deal with a love-struck Belinda. Just then, she saw Theo leaving the Blanchet Building. Her eyes lit up, like sheâd found her savior.
âBelinda, look! Theoâs off work.â
