Patricia looked at Ellinor, who had just hung up the phone, and flashed her trademark âinnocentâ grin.
âMs. Mendoza, you seem pretty busy, huh? Was that a guy on the phone?â
Ellinor put her phone away, nonchalantly grabbed a throw pillow from the sofa, and replied, âYeah, it was a dudeâ
Patricia had a hint of sarcasm in her innocent eyes, âDoes Mr Blanchet know youâre still in touch with other guys?â
Ellinor let out a yawn, âHe probably has no clueâ
Patricia looked a bit peeved, âMr. Blanchet doesnât know? That could be a problem. Youâre inviting other men over when heâs not around. If word gets out, there might be some unnecessary chatterâ
Ellinor tumed to look at Patricia, raising an eyebrow, âMs. Howard, are you threatening to tell him?â
Patricia feigned innocence and furrowed her brow, âNo way, Iâm not threatening you, just giving you a friendly heads up!â
Ellinor gave a slight smile. Threat or reminder, I couldnât care less. If you want to spread the word, go ahead! If you want to tell Mr. Blanchet, you can call him now and let him know Iâve been inviting other men over when heâs not home. Do whatever you want!â
Patricia was a bit disgruntled by Ellinorâs nonchalant attitude, and she silently gritted her teeth.
In reality, Patricia knew that if Ellinor was so open about having men over, there was likely no foul play.
Patricia retorted coldly, âMs. Mendoza, youâre overthinking. Iâm not one for gossiping or telling tales to Mr. Blanchet.
Hah! If she wasnât that kind of person then who was?
Who knew what schemes Patricia was cooking up?
Ellinor gave Patricia a glance and ignored her.
At that moment, a male servant walked in with a package, âEllinor, your meal is here.â
Ellinor nodded, âCool, just put it here.â
The servant left after placing the meal on the coffee table.
Ellinor put down her throw pillow and started to unwrap her food, âMs. Howard, fancy a bite?â
Patricia offered a fake smile, her eyes showing her disdain for the cheap meal, âNo thanks, Iâm already full.â
Ellinor looked at her with a smile, her tone casual, âIf youâre not eating, then please step back. I donât like being watched while l eat.â
Patriciaâs smile stiffened. âAlrightâ¦â
Veronica came over from the dining room, âPatricia, why are you still sitting with Ellinor? You should keep your distance. The cheap meals she orders are made with lousy oil. Itâs just disgusting, you might catch something.â
She spoke while trying to pull Patricia away from Ellinor.
As Patricia stood up, she was still holding her glass of milk, and she didnât forget to hand the leftovers to Ellinor before leaving.
