âMom, you know Theoâs been having a rough month! After weeks of searching, we finally found Ellinor.
We canât let him down and we canât let Ellinor slip through our fingers because of our carelessness Poor Theol Mrs. Wesley gave a resigned yet gentle smile, âAlright, enough! I know youâre worried about Theo; Iâll take good care of Ellinor.â
Belinda grinned in satisfaction, âThatâs more like it!â
Suddenly, she heard a car in the yard and excitedly released her motherâs hand, âMom! They must be here, you go to the kitchen and whip up some dishes; Iâll go out to welcome them!â
With that, Belinda darted out.
Mrs. Wesley just chuckled and shook her head before returning to the kitchen to help with the dinner preparations By the time Belinda reached the yard, Theo had already stepped out of the car.
Theo, youâre here! The food is great today!â Belinda cheerfully greeted.
Theo gave her a cold glance and made his way into the house.
Belinda didnât catch on to any awkwardness since Theo was always this indifferent.
She didnât follow Theo back inside; instead, she ran to the car and opened the door in search of someone.
As she opened the car door, she grumbled, âTheo, seriously! How could he not wait for Ellinor and just go inside? Hmph, is he not afraid Ellinor would leave him again?â
âEllinor, Iâm here to greet you!â
But to her surprise, the person she was expecting was not in the car.
âWhereâs Ellinor?â
Belinda leaned into the car and saw that the back seat was empty. She then turned to the front seat, only to see the driver and Collin.
Both the driver and Collin turned around with surprised expressions.
âMs. Wesley, who are you looking for?â Collin asked.
Iâm looking for Ellinor! Didnât she come with Theo?â Belinda replied.
Collinâs expression darkened, and he carefully advised, âMs. Wesley, Iâd suggest not to mention Ellinor in front of Mr. Blanchet.â
Belinda furrowed her brows, feeling that things were not as expected, âWhatâs going on? Did Theo and Ellinor not make up?â
Collin regretfully shook his head.
âSo, donât bring up Ms. Mendoza in front of Mr. Blanchet; it might upset him.â
Belinda was puzzled. She wanted to ask Theo, but she knew Theo was a man of few words and might not tell her. So she hopped into the car and started grilling Collin.
âWhat happened? Weâve found her; why isnât everything going as planned? Did Theo still play hard to get in front of Ellinor? Didnât he try to coax his runaway wife back home?â
Collin frowned, âItâs not Mr. Blanchetâs fault.â
Belinda was even more confused, âNot Theoâs fault? So itâs Ellinorâs then? What could be the problem with such a nice person?â
Collin knew it wasnât his place to discuss Mr. Blanchetâs affairs, but he feared if he didnât, Ms. Wesley, being a bit of a scatterbrain, might keep bringing up Ms. Mendoza in front of Mr. Blanchet, which could potentially infuriate him.
