Ellinor closed her eyes and leaned on the head of the bed to doze off. Suddenly someone knocked on the door, and then a strange woman who was about forty years old walked in.
âWho are you looking for?â Ellinor asked, watching the stranger with suspicion.
There were police at the door, how did they let a stranger in? Who was she?
The middleâaged woman bowed respectfully, âMs. Mendoza, Iâm the caregiver invited by Collin. My name is Ada, and Iâll be here fullâtime to take care of your diet and daily needs. If you need anything, just let me know.â
*Collin?â
âYes, that is him.â
Ellinor frowned. Why called a nurse for her? Could it be that Theo has left?
Ha, it seemed that the man did no longer trust her.
Originally, they were no relation to each other anyway, so what was there to trust or not to trust?
The funny thing was that man said he liked her last night and told her not to keep him out of her heartâ¦
She had really almost believed him.
Just then, there was another noisy sound outside the doorâ¦.
âWho are you guys? Why wonât you let me in? Let me in! Iâm Belinda Wesley! I need to go in for seeing Ellinorâ¦â
It was Belindaâs voice.
Upon hearing it, Ellinor instructed the new caregiver, Ada, âAda, go tell the police at the door to let that girl in.â
Ada nodded and turned around and left.
After a while, Ada brought Belinda in, who still looked upset.
âReally! Iâm away for one day and this happens! Youâve been wronged!â
Ellinor saw the lunch box in Belindaâs hand, âWhat yummy food did you bring me?â
Belinda said, âThis is beef and mushroom soup my mom made. Have some soup, it might help your hand recover faster!â
âThanks, Iâm starved! Ada, please fill a bowl for me and let it cool down?â
âSure, Ms. Mendoza.â Ada replied, took the thermos from Belindaâs hand, and went off to handle it.
âAre you just going to let them lock you up like this?â Belinda looked at the handcuffs on Ellinorâs hands and feet, fuming.
âIâm a suspect now. Itâs understandable that the police would do this to prevent me from running away, Ellinor nonchalantly shrugged.
âWhat suspect! You wouldnât do such a thing! This is driving me crazy!â
Ellinor was slightly taken aback, looking at Belindaâs confident face, she felt a pang of sadness.
She hadnât known Belinda for very long, and even Belinda believed she wouldnât do such a thing, but Theoâ¦
Forget it, donât think about him!
Just as she decided not to think about him, Belinda began to vent again, âAnd that goodâforânothing Theo, how could he leave you at a time like thisâ¦â
She stopped midâsentence, as if worried about causing any trouble, and didnât continue.
Ellinor, only hearing half of it, couldnât help but be curious.
âHmm? He goes for doing what?â
