Nolan arched an eyebrow. âDonât worry, she probably just sprained her finger or something. Itâs not a big deal. You know what they say, âIt takes time to heal, but once you get her home and give her some rest, sheâll be bouncing back in no time.â
Imogenâs heart ached at the thought, and she lunged towards Nolan, fists ready. But before she could get any closer, a bodyguard blocked her path.
Francis was now seriously concerned. He immediately pulled Imogen closer.
âIf this has nothing to do with Madeline, she will come out of this unscathed. But if it does, you know the drill.â Francisâ voice turned icy. He couldnât believe his daughterâs disappearance could be linked to his stepdaughter.
But he wasnât completely clueless. He pressed on, âHow could a girl manage to take Regina? The car window was even smashed. She must have had help. Is this related to her biological father?â
Nolan nodded, satisfied. âExactly. Imogen, if youâre smart, youâll call Domingo now. I know you donât want to get back with him, but he does. I hope you can convince him not to do anything foolish with Regina. Otherwise, your daughterâs fate will be Reginaâs. Think carefully.â
With a gesture from Nolan, a bodyguard handed Imogen her phone. She looked a shocked she hadnât realized her belongings had fallen into their hands. Nolan h prepared. Without assurance of Reginaâs safety, he would not back down.
Meanwhile, Madelineâs scream echoed through the room again, pushing Imogen She grabbed the phone and dialed the number, while Francis silently noted the cal â2â indicating this wasnât her first call to the man. He didnât react immediately, just s the information away.
Domingo, busy with Madelineâs request, was surprised to receive a call. âHello? Imog Whatâs up? Why are you calling?â
Imogen, desperate to cut to the chase, interrupted him, âIs Regina with you?â
Domingo, having promised Madeline heâd handle Regina, wasnât about to admit anything âWhat are you talking about? How would I know Regina?â
âDonât play dumb with me!â Imogen nearly screamed, âYou donât understand, Madelineâs li is in danger.
If you donât tell me where Regina is, who knows if Madeline will ever come back to you safely?â
Domingo replied without hesitation, âThatâs impossible. Didnât Madeline return safely to the Tanner Mansion? There canât be any trouble! Donât joke about such things. I know Iâve made mistakes with Madeline and you, but you never gave me a chance to make it right. Now, my daughter finally needs my help with something, and of course, Iâll do it. You should give me another chance.â
Imogen gasped. This was indeed related to him.
