The peace of the set was shattered by a piercing scream.
Diana had just slipped into the shoes provided by the crew, never anticipating the nasty surprise someone had hidden inside!
âWhatâs wrong with Diana?â
The crew members quickly gathered around as Diana winced in pain.
âThereâs something in the shoeâ¦â she murmured weakly, pointing to the footwear.
Carefully, she lifted her foot to find a deep puncture wound on her sole bleeding profusely.
A crew member flipped the shoe over and gave it a shake.
A thumbtack rolled out.
âGoodness! How did this thumbtack end up here?â
Dianaâs assistant hurried over with a medical kit.
A thumbtack in the co-starâs shoe was no accident, and the news spread through the set like wildfire.
When Colton heard about it, his expression turned grave.
âIâm so sorry, Colton. It looks like Iâll be holding up production againâ¦â
After her assistant had given her a quick first-aid treatment, there was still the concern that the thumbtack could have been contaminated. They needed to get her to a hospital for proper medical examination.
Colton reassured her, âNo need to apologize. Iâll make sure you and your agency get a satisfactory response to this.â
Everyone understood that this was no mere accident. Just as the set had returned to calm, it was once again thrown into disarray.
Colton immediately had the surveillance footage reviewed.
But the results were astonishing and unexpected.
âHow could it be Ivy? Sheâs one of our most talented. Why would she be so petty as to drop a tack in Dianaâs shoe?â The figure in the surveillance footage was unmistakably wearing Ivyâs outfit from earlier that day.
âThatâs just malicious. If Diana hadnât noticed and stepped down hard, that tack wouldâve gone straight into her flesh!â
Colton watched the footage over and over in silence. It clearly showed Ivy sneaking into Dianaâs dressing room.
But having worked with Ivy for so long, he knew her character. She wasnât someone who would do such a thing.
Yet with so many eyes fixed on the footage, the consensus was that Ivy was the culprit. As the director, Colton found it difficult to defend her.
âDianaâs acting has been improving by leaps and bounds. Sheâs starting to outshine Ivy. She just canât stand it and resort to underhanded tactics like sneaking into someone elseâs dressing room to plant a tack. Colton, you canât tolerate such behaviour just because Ivyâs the lead!â
Someone crossed their arms, clearly upset by Ivyâs supposed action.
âI think so too. After all, Ivyâs just a newcomer, and sheâs not backed by a big agency like the others.
âBarely getting any recognition, and sheâs already afraid of being overshadowed. Tsk, thatâs just cruel!â
âI feel so sorry for Diana. She was so apologetic earlier, worried that her injury would delay the production. Sheâs really nice.â
