Tracy sneered, âDonât you dare threaten me with your dad! The truth is, Sheila is my kid with another guy So what? You think you can just spill that to your dad without a shred of evidence and heâll believe you? Do you know how much he adores us? He takes our word for everything! A little buttering up, and heâs putty in our hands!
âReally now?â Elinor giggled, turning to call out to the door. âDad, did you catch that? Tracy just admitted she cheated!â
Tracy and Sheila froze, turning to the door in terror.
The front door was kicked open, and Arnold stormed in, fuming. âTracy you shameless wretch!â
Seeing this, Sheila rushed over to try and calm her father Dad, donât be mad! Mom didnât mean what she just saidâ
Amold angrily shoved Sheila aside, snarling. âGet away from me! Iâm not even sure youâre my daughter!â
Sheila panicked, âDad, 1.
Ignoring Sheila, Arnold stalked toward Tracy and slapped her hard across the face.
âYou disgrace! I provided for you, fed you, gave you money to blow, and you sneak around with other men?!â
Tracy stumbled to the floor, only then shaking her head in denial through her sobs. âNo, I didnât. Arnold, I didnât betray you! Really! Elinor just got me all riled up!â
Arnold didnât believe her anymore. âSo you and that Pollock arenât old flames?â
Tracyâs gaze wavered for a moment. She knew denying it now wouldnât do her any favors.
So she put on the best pitiful face she could muster and admitted through her tears, âYes! Arnold, I admit, I did have a thing with Pollock in the past, but that was before I met you! Thereâs nothing between us now!â
âNothing between you two? Then why does he accept Sheila as his daughter? Sheila must be your loveâchild with him!â
âNo! Arnold, Sheila is your daughter! If you donât believe me, we can get a DNA test at the hospital!
Donât listen to Elinor, sheâs just jealous and trying to stir up trouble! Arnold, if you donât trust me, Iâd rather just off myself!â
As soon as she said this, Tracy suddenly stood up and rushed towards the wall, slamming her head against it. She fell to the floor.
Arnold was shocked, rushing over to lift her up and check her condition. âTracy, youâ¦â
Tracy had a cut on her head that was bleeding a little. She spoke weakly: âArnold, you have to believe me. I didnât betray you, and Sheila really is your child.â
Seeing her stake her life on her innocence, Arnold wavered. âTracy, are you really willing to let Sheila and I take a paternity test?â
