Belinda, teetering on stilettos, had been greeting guests for over two hours. She was so exhausted that she could barely stand. After finally bidding farewell to one group, she slumped into Chaseâs arms to rest.
âGetting married is so tiring! Iâm not doing this again.â
Chase, supporting her, raised his eyebrows humorously. âYou were planning a next time?â
Belinda pouted. âWho knows? Maybe one day youâll get bored of the marriage game, ditch me, and return to your wild bachelor life. I canât exactly stay single just because youâve turned fickle, can I?â
Chase pinched her cheek. âBehave yourself! This is a joyful day. Why are you talking like that? If I were still interested in being a wild bachelor, why would I be rushing to marry you? Silly girl.â
Belinda, her face distorted by his grip, frowned and complained. âHey! If you pinch me like that, my makeup will smudge. Do you know that this makeup took two hours to put on?! I had to wake up at 4 a.m.! Remove your hand!â
Obediently, Chase let go before pecking her lips. âSit here and wait. Iâll call the makeup artist to touch you up and bring you some flats.â
Belinda nodded and sat down to rest on a chair. Her back was sore from standing for so long.
She wasnât lying. Getting married was truly exhausting.
Underneath the vast skirt of her wedding dress, Belinda kicked off her high heels to stretch her sore feet.
Glancing up, she noticed Ellinor sitting not far away with a teasing look in her eyes.
Belindaâs cheeks reddened, realizing Ellinor must have seen Chase kiss her.
Grinning, she waved Ellinor over.
Ellinor, who was watching her kids devour a cake, saw Belindaâs gesture and instructed the nanny to keep an eye on them before she got up to join Belinda.
âEllinor, how did I do today?â Belinda asked with a puppy-like eagerness for praise.
Ellinor, pulling up a chair, replied, âYou were confident, graceful, and truly beautiful. Fantastic job!â
Ellinorâs compliment made Belinda feel as proud as a peacock. âI thought I did well, too!â
Ellinor looked at her. âExhausted, arenât you?â
Belinda shrugged. âYeah, itâs tiring, but itâs worth it! This is the wedding Iâve always dreamed of.
Everything went so smoothly. Itâs perfect! Itâs enough to brag about for a lifetime!â
Ellinor, amused by Belindaâs adorable demeanor, looked for a glass of juice on the table. As she searched, her eyes fell upon an unexpected guest.
Sophia, donned in an expensive, sparkling evening gown, appeared at the wedding, gracefully making her way towards them.
Ellinor narrowed her eyes, wondering what she was doing there.
Noticing Ellinorâs strange expression, Belinda followed her gaze, and her face instantly darkened.
âItâs her! Whatâs that witch doing at my wedding?! Ugh! My weddingâs been tainted!â
