Marcus remained silent. Sure, he could reach out to the little lady, but he was in no mood for that now.
He had seen the messages that Ellinor sent him. But, because she only asked where they were and didnât explain why she was sightseeing with Bartlett, he chose not to reply.
Why didnât she clarify? Wasnât she afraid that he would misunderstand her being with another man?
Or did she not care about whether he misunderstood or not?
The more he thought about it, the more frustrated he felt.

Three years! He was trapped for over three years! It was hard to imagine how many men approached her during this time with intentions that were less than honorable.
Every time he thought about it, his frustration grew. It was almost palpable.
At that moment, his sensible son, Tristan, handed him his phone. âDad, you obviously care a lot about her. Why donât you just ask her directly? Donât keep mulling over this. Thereâs no need to lose sleep over it.â
Marcus looked at his son and then looked at the phone in his hand.
Tristan urged him. âDad, hurry up! If you donât call her now, Sophia will be back, and you wonât get a chance to talk to Ellinor!â
With that thought, Marcus finally took the phone. After a few moments, he sent a video call to Ellinor using encrypted software.
The call rang for a while before it was finally picked up.
The screen and sound on the other side were chaotic.
After the phone was steadied, the camera finally landed on Ellinorâs face.
Ellinor looked at the stern face on the screen and raised her eyebrows. âFinally decided to reply, huh?â
Marcus stared at her coldly. âWhere are you? Why havenât you returned home yet?â
So, she was still out with Bartlett? They seem to get along quite well. Did they have a lot to talk about?
Ellinor panned her phone around to show him the busy surroundings and the parade of mascots.
âWeâre out! Can you see? Guess where we are?â
Marcusâ expression grew darker. âYouâre at the amusement park together?â
He clenched his fists in anger. Damn it! Even he had never taken her to an amusement park before!
Why did Bartlett get to do that? That sly man had always had a thing for her. Damn him!
Ellinor nodded. âYes! Today was a special day, so I took them to the amusement park. We plan to stay until nighttime to watch the fireworks show. Theyâve never seen it before.â
So, they had plans to watch the fireworks show together?
How romantic was that? She was his woman. Why did she have to watch the fireworks show with another man?!
Marcusâ face was expressionless, but inside he was seething.
Upon hearing this, Tristan jumped onto the bed and stared at the phone. âEllinor, Iâve never seen the fireworks show either. I wish I could be there with you guys!â
Upon seeing the pitiful look on her other sonâs face, Ellinor began to feel a mix of emotions. âTristan, itâs okay. Next time, when you and your dad come back, Mom will take you guys here again. Then you can see the grandest fireworks show ever! Can I promise you that? Now, be a good boy and listen to your dad, okay?â
