After nailing down the meetâup time and place with Collin, Ellinor hung up and plopped down on a chair, feeling a bit peckish and fancying a bite to eat.
The hotel where she was supposed to meet Collin was actually picked by Sheila Later on, Sheila sauntered over, eavesdropping on Ellinorâs phone convo. When she heard that Mr.
Blanchet had accepted the dinner invite, she suggested the hotel meetâup. Ellinor had no objections and simply relayed the suggestion Just as Ellinor was about to tuck in, Sheila swooped in and snatched her cutlery.
âOn your feet!â
Ellinor frowned, âSheila, Iâve sorted it out, so I can eat now, right?â
Sheila gave her a disgusted look, âWhat have you sorted out? Mr. Blanchet still didnât show up for this meal! Sure, youâve now arranged to meet him tonight, but that doesnât make up for my loss during this meal!â
Ellinor glanced at the spread on the table, âBut all these dishes you ordered, you canât possibly finish them all by yourself, can you?â
Sheila scoffed. âIf I canât finish them, Iâll just take them home, theyâre not for you to eat! What gives you the right to enjoy such pricey dishes at Charm Tower? Do you even know what fine dining is? If someone like you eats these dishes made from topâquality ingredients, Charm Tower would feel like youâre bringing down their standards!â
Ellinor smirked, stood up and said. âAlright then, Iâll be on my wayâ
Sheilaâs eyes widened, âGo? Where are you off to?â
âI took the afternoon off today, you approved it, so Iâm going home to rest!â
âThat was then, this is now, what if I donât agree anymore! Ellinor, you you wouldnât dare leave, stop!

Watching Ellinor leave, Sheila was furing and about to give chase when her phone rang. It was a call from her mom, Tracy.
She didnât have time to deal with Ellinor anymore and picked up the call, âHello, momâ¦â
On the other end of the line, Tracy asked urgently, âSheila, howâs the endorsement deal with Crescent Society coming along?â
Sheila, looking at Ellinorâs retreating figure, answered her mother, âThe dealâs almost done, but weâve hit a snag! Come to Charm Tower, Iâve ordered a pile of dishes, too much for me to eat alone!â
âCharm Tower? How did you end up eating alone at such a ritzy place?â
âOh, itâs all Ellinorâs fault! Iâll explain when you get here, just donât let dad know!â

Twenty minutes later, Tracy arrived at Charm Tower.
âSheila, what the hell happened? Tell me quick!â
Tracy sat down anxiously and started questioning.
