Balfour furrowed his brow in thought. He was right; if he took Adrian away now, the man would be left alone without even a child to keep him company. When Sophia returned, heâd have no way to explain.
Yet, allowing Adrian to stay here, to stay with Sophia, who didnât have the best intentions, didnât sit well with him either.
Adrian seemed to understand his uncleâs concerns. He tugged at Balfourâs shirt and said, âUncle, Iâve been with this handsome man for several days now, and Iâm fine. Please donât tell Mommy yet, or sheâll worry.â
Balfour pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling at a loss.
No wonder Ellinor had mentioned that Adrian was always running around lately. It turned out the two kids had been swapped.
It was such an unbelievable coincidence.
Balfour stared at Marcus with serious warning in his eyes. âYou better take good care of him. If not, youâll regret it.â
Marcus nodded calmly. âIâd appreciate it if you could ask Ms. Ellinor to take good care of my son as well.â
Meanwhile, Byran was pressed against the wall of his suite, straining to hear any sounds.
Unfortunately, he couldnât make out anything.
The presidential suite was too big. The room separated by a wall was still a bedroom, and the soundproofing was excellent. It was almost impossible to overhear anything.
He had secretly followed his brother, first seeing him enter the suite across the hall. After a while, he saw his brother leave, knock on the door, and enter the suite next door to his.
Byran was utterly confused by his brotherâs actions. He had initially thought his brother was here to see his girlfriend.
But then he saw this situation and was utterly baffled.
If his brother was dating, couldnât he just book a single room with his girlfriend? Why did he need to book two rooms across the hall from each other?
Could it be that his brotherâs girlfriend was a married woman?
So they were playing a game of deception?
If that were true, then his brother was really messing things up.
If they were caught in an affair, where would the Howard familyâs reputation go?
Their grandparents would be livid.
The more he thought about it, the more things didnât add up. Byran paced back and forth in his temporary suite, trying to come up with a plan.
Unable to think of a solution, he pulled out his phone and dialed Ellinorâs number.
At this time, Ellinor had just returned from lunch and was busy with work.
When she answered, she absentmindedly said, âHello?â
âSis, itâs me!â Byran muttered.
Ellinor hummed in response. âYouâre late. Iâve already eaten, so you canât mooch off my food. Go get something to eat yourself.â
