Chase arrived in no time. He was downstairs in less than two minutes after answering the call.
However, Chaseâs attitude made Byran uncomfortable. He looked at Byran with a mocking smile and said, âMr. Howard, your youth is enviable. I canât remember the last time I was mistaken for a minor.â
Byran huffed grumpily. âWhatâs so great about being young? I wish I were thirty now! Whereâs Ida?
Take me to her!â
Chase shrugged and nodded as he led him toward a private room.
âMr. Howard, I warn you. Keep your temper in check when we go in. Donât fly off the handle.â
Byran frowned in confusion, asking cautiously, âWhy would I lose my temper? Whatâs Ida doing in there?â
Chase gave a small smile. âYouâll see when you get in. Iâm just reminding you that a mature man doesnât lose his cool easily.â
Byran waved his hand impatiently. âAlright, alright, I got it; just take me in. Which room is it?â
Chase pointed to a private room not far away. Without any hesitation, Byran walked towards it and pushed open the door.
It was a large VIP room filled with the sweet aroma of flowers.
Looking closer, the floor was covered with petals.
The room was decorated with heart-shaped balloons and flowers.
Byranâs expression darkened, but the people in the room didnât notice him. They were all enjoying the party.
He didnât see Ida at first, but as he walked further in, he saw her sitting in a corner, drinking and chatting with a man.
Byran felt like a cat whose territory had been invaded. His mood instantly flared up; he was ready to explode.
However, a large hand held him by the shoulder. Chaseâs voice rang in his ears. âMr. Howard, did you forget what I just told you? A real mature man doesnât lose his cool easily, and Ida doesnât like men who constantly embarrass her.â
Byran composed himself, suppressed his anger, and calmed down a bit. He glared fiercely at the man and woman.
The dim lighting and noisy environment in the room meant Ida didnât notice him. Instead, the man beside her noticed him but didnât alert Ida; he even deliberately moved closer to her.
Byran immediately recognized the man. It was that annoying guy who was talking to Ida at the entrance of Crescent Society this morning.
After seeing them together again, looking even closer this time, Byran became really angry.
But Chase was right. He couldnât act immature and lose his temper at the drop of a hat. That would mean he was directly losing to that annoying old man.
He took a deep breath, forced himself to calm down, then turned to Chase and asked, âWho is that disgusting man? Why is Ida so into him?â
Chase smiled and said, âHeâs Idaâs first love. He recently returned from abroad and wants to rekindle their old flames.â
âWhat?!â Byran was furious. What a shameless man! They had already broken up, and he still had the audacity to come back and rekindle their old flames?
Chase kindly reminded him again, âSee these roses, balloons, and bouquets? Theyâre all surprises he carefully prepared for Ida.â
Byran gritted his teeth. âThatâs so cheesy! Ida wonât fall for that!â
Chase laughed. âReally? I think Ida quite likes it.â
