Sophia deliberately rubbed off the lipstick on the comer of her lips with her finger.
âIâve gotta thank ya for the opportunity you created for me. If you hadnât pissed off Theo yesterday, I might not have had a chance to get close to him. Ever since Thea chose to give being with me a shot, heâs been different towards me. The moment I walked in just now, he stood up, came over, and kissed me. He totally smooched off my lipstick!â
Did Theo just step off camera to kiss Sophia?
Ellinor felt sick to her stomach.
Theoâs ambiguous attitude towards her was just to keep her steady and protect their child.
He might still have feelings for her, but it was not like she was the only one.
This could be deduced from the fact that Sophia could freely come and go from his office.
Ellinor gave her a slight smile. âThen congrats on finally stepping into his life. But, given your outgoing personality, playing the shy card doesnât really suit you. Being direct might be more your style, Ms.
Sophia.â
Sophiaâs face froze, and then she laughed. âEllinorâ¦â
Beep!
The video call was cut off.
Sophia stared at the phoneâs black screen, huffing in anger.
Although Ellinor seemed indifferent, she didnât believe that she was unaffected.
In truth, Theo didnât accept her invitation to go upstairs last night. He just had his driver take him away.
But the truth didnât matter. As long as Ellinor kept misunderstanding and refusing to forgive Theo, their conflicts would deepen and they would gradually drift apart.
Just then, Theo pushed the door open and came back in. He had just gone out to meet an unexpected visitor.
After walking in and seeing Sophia sitting on his desk, he frowned and said coldly, âWhat are you doing here? Who let you in?â
Sophia immediately stood up, putting on a calm smile.
âTheo, youâre finally back! I just came in less than a minute ago. When I arrived, I saw that your secretary was away. I knocked on your office door, and when there was no answer, I just came in to check.
I got a bit tired since Iâm wearing high heels and even twisted my ankle when I was climbing the steps, so Iâm just sitting here to rest for a bit.
Theo, weâve been friends for many years. I just sat on your chair; you wouldnât mind, would you?â
Theo looked at his office chair that she had been sitting on and then at his phone on the table, which now no longer showed Ellinorâs face. He asked sternly, âDid you touch my phone?â
Sophia shook her head. âNo, I didnât! Your phone was off when I was sitting here. I thought it was odd that you had your phone in the pencil holder, but since I know you donât like people messing with your phone, I didnât touch it.â
Theo gave her a look. âHmm, what did you want?â
Without even glancing at the gift box in Sophiaâs hand, Theo strode over, took out his phone from his pocket, and looked at the call duration he had with Ellinor âYou donât need to go out of your way to bring me these things.â
Sophia sighed with a selfâpitying tone. âTheo, I meant well; I was concerned youâre working too hard.
Canât I come and share some food with you? Are we still friends?â
Theo opened Ellinorâs profile and glanced at it. He saw she had posted a tweet a minute ago.
âWhen I was little, I was afraid of ghosts because they looked scary.
Now that Iâm older, Iâm afraid of people because theyâre only polite on the surface.â
Theo narrowed his eyes. Who was she talking about?
