Theo was leaning back on the chair, so when Ellinor first woke up, she didnât see him and mistook him for a shadow.
It wasnât until Theo moved a bit that the light from the car window hit his face. After she realized it was Theo, Ellinor felt uncomfortable and frowned. âItâs you! How⦠how am I in your car?â
Theo looked at her. âYou should be asking yourself why you fainted on someone else.â
Ellinor suddenly remembered fainting; it seemed someone had caught her from behind so she didnât fall to the ground. It was Theo.
Regardless, this guy had helped her out.
Ellinor became a bit more polite in her speech. Iâm sorry, I think I might be a bit hypoglycemic. Mr.
Blanchet, thanks for your help; I wonât bother you again.â
With that, she reached for the car door, ready to get out.
Theo didnât stop her and just said, âWerenât you looking for Lady Lotusâs self-portrait?â
Ellinorâs movement to get out of the car halted, and she whirled around to look at Theo. âYou have the painting?â
No wonder she couldnât find her motherâs self-portrait at the party.
Theo lazily leaned back in his seat, nodding slightly.
Ellinor closed the car door again, taking her seat. âWhereâs the painting? Can I see it?â
Theo looked at her with a sarcastic glint in his eyes. âWhy should I show you my personal possessions?â
The paintingâ¦
Did this guy buy it?
Ellinor felt a rush of anxiety. For the sake of her motherâs painting, she swallowed her pride. âIâll just take a look; I wonât snatch your painting.â
Theo snorted. âHow can I be sure you wonât grab my painting, Ms. Mendoza? We arenât even close.â
Ellinor puffed out her cheeks. This guy was clearly messing with her!
âYes, weâre not close. But weâve worked together before. Canât you be a little kind and let me take a look, even if itâs from afar?â
Theo reached out to lift her chin, examining her like she was an interesting object. After a while, he said coldly, âBeg me.â
Ellinor was already very upset, but there was nothing she could do; the painting was in this manâs hands. She took a deep breath and said, âFine! Mr. Blanchet, I ask youâ¦â
Before she could finish, her mouth was covered.
Theo leaned in, fiercely kissing her without allowing any room for refusal.
Ellinorâs eyes widened. After reacting, she immediately pushed Theo away and wiped her mouth.
âHave you gone mad?â
Theoâs breath was slightly hurried, and he gave her a resentful look. âYes, Iâve gone mad.â
Ellinor vigorously wiped her mouth, trying to calm her racing heart.
âTake your madness to someone else! I donât have time to play with you!â
She was very angry; she didnât even want to see the painting anymore. All she hoped for was to open the car door and escape as fast as possible. However, at this moment, Theo leaned in, pulling her back to his side and casually closing the car door.
âWhat are you trying to do? Iâll call for help!â Ellinor struggled as she sat on Theoâs lap unwillingly.
Considering her pregnant state, Theo didnât hold her too tight, but it was enough to keep her from escaping. Unable to shake free, she glared at him angrily. âTheo, what the hell do you want?â
