Chase pulled a dependent face that he only ever showed in front of Ellinor. âBoss, actually, I need a favor.â
Ellinor eyed Chase, already having a hunch this was not going to be good news.
âWhat is it?â
Chase asked with a smile. âCan you talk to Belinda for me? Sheâs been giving me the cold shoulder and is with someone else now. Iâm really upset.â
Upon hearing this, Ellinor immediately pushed him away. âIâm not helping. When you had her buy condoms for you, did you consider her feelings?â Chase knew he was in the wrong and awkwardly said, âI didnât realize that I liked her then! And wasnât it you who told me to get Belinda to lose interest in me?â
Ellinor glared at him unhappily. âAre you blaming this on me? I told you to stay away from her, not to do something so embarrassing!â
Chase waved his hands. âIâm not shifting the blame; itâs my fault! I regret it now, and besides, I didnât even use the condoms I had her buy. Boss, please help me! This is a big deal in my life! Can you bear to see me suffer?â
Ellinor huffed. âIâm not helping any man. You only treasure her because you canât have her. When you do have her and the novelty wears off, will you be responsible for her?â
Chase looked more determined than ever. âI can! I see other girls as potatoes or cabbages now.
Theyâre boring once Iâve had enough fun! Please, help me win back my Belinda, okay?â
Ellinor had never seen Chase be this persistent about any other girl and didnât doubt his sincerity at the moment. She thought for a while. âIâll consider it.â Chase laughed, knowing that when Ellinor said sheâd consider, it probably meant she agreed. He hugged Ellinorâs neck like a puppy. âI knew you were the best!â
Ellinor rolled her eyes at him.
Suddenly, a cough interrupted the interaction between Ellinor and Chase.
Chase immediately sat up straight and looked at the door, only to see Collin standing there with a serious face, clearly not pleased with their behavior.
âWhat are you doing?â Chase raised an eyebrow, asking in an unhappy tone.
âMr. Larios, there should be a proper distance between men and women, so please keep your distance from Ellinor.â
Chase had already let go of Ellinor, but upon hearing this, he hugged her neck again and rubbed against it. âIâm hugging my Ellinor, so what does it have to do with Mr. Blanchet? If he has a problem, let him come and fight me!â
Collinâs veins popped on his forehead, and his fists clenched. If it werenât for Ellinor, he really wanted to punch someone right now.

Collin had no response for that, so he stepped back to the entrance.
In the afternoon, when Belinda came, the person who opened the door was Collin.
Belinda was surprised. âCollin! What are you doing here? I get it! Theo must have missed Ellinor and came to see her, right? Where is he? I bought some chocolates on the way here, they can share them!â
Collin shook his head. âBelinda, Mr. Blanchet is not here.â
