âWe both know damn well whether or not the kid is mine.â
Ellinor adjusted her bathrobe, flashing a flirty smile. âMr. Blanchel, you sure are cocky, arenât you? Are you so sure? How do you know I havenât been with any other men?â
Theo squinted, his mood darkening. âYouâd really trash your own reputation just to cut ties with me?â
Ellinor stayed silent.
Theoâs expression turned sarcastic. âDonât worry, Iâm not as low as you think. Iâm not here to hassle you. But I hope you wonât get involved with any other men before my child is born.â
Ellinor frowned, disliking his commanding tone. âWhether I see other men or not is none of your business!â
Theo glared at her. âFine. Letâs see how you exercise your freedom.â
Ellinor asked cautiously, âWhat are you saying? What are you planning?â
Theo smirked. âMaybe you should get dressed first. You actually think you can go out looking like that?â
âMind your own business!â Ellinor snapped, blushing with anger.
Theo didnât say anything else; he just turned and left the room.
Bartlett had been knocking on the door and was taken aback when it suddenly opened. He tried to rush in to find Ellinor, but Theo blocked him.
âSheâs changing. What are you barging in for?â
Bartlett was stunned and glanced at Ellinor in the room. She was standing there, and she seemed to be okay, so he sighed in relief.
Then Bartlett closed the door to Ellinorâs room.
âTheo, I know you and Ellinor used to have something, but she doesnât want to be with you anymore. I hope you can respect her decision.â
Theo stared coldly at Bartlett. âAnd who are you to be telling me this?â
Bartlett paused and then smiled. âIâm speaking as Ellinorâs new suitor, is that okay?â
âNo.â
Theo said, âEven if I donât want her, it doesnât mean you can pick her up. Stay away from her. I can let go of the fact that you helped her run away.â
Bartlett was taken aback, his smile turning cruel, âTheo, are we really going to fall out over this?â
Theo was taller than Bartlett. He looked down at him with an overpowering aura. âItâs not me who wants to fall out, itâs you whoâs asking for it. You should have thought about this when you helped another manâs wife run away.â
With that. Theo turned and walked away.
After a few steps, he turned back and glared at Bartlett. âArenât you leaving? Are you planning to spend the night here?â
Bartlett shrugged. âItâs morning. What do you mean spend the night?â
Theo squinted. âArenât you leaving?â
Bartlett clenched his jaw, then put on his usual smile, knocked on Ellinorâs door, and said, âEllinor, Iâm leaving now. Iâll come see you later,â
Without getting a response from Ellinor, Bartlett followed Theo out When Ellinor came out after changing, no one was at the door.
She opened the front door, and the elevator in front of her was slowly closing.
In the elevator were Theo and Bartlett.
Bartlett was smiling at her.
Theo was also looking at her; red veins could clearly be seen in his deep eyes.
Ellinor didnât understand what Theoâs eyes meant, but for some reason, she fell he looked very tired.
Did she actually feel bad for him?
Was she nuts? After all that had happened, she still felt pity for that man!
