Chase looked at her intently. “I’m not joking. I’ve been confessing my feelings to you since yesterday.

It’s you who hasn’t been taking me seriously.”

Belinda raised her eyebrows. “Seriously? You have the gall to talk about being ‘serious’ in front of me?”

Chase lowered his long eyelashes and nodded. “I’ve never been serious before, but you’ve taught me how to be.”

Belinda fell silent.

Even though she wasn’t speaking, Chase never felt awkward and gently asked her, “What do you want for lunch? We can eat and then get some takeaway for Ellinor.”
