After Ellinor finished speaking, she breezed past them and headed for the bathroom.
Marissa Blanchet looked worried. She tapped Veronica lightly. âVeronica, go with Ellinor. Sheâs pregnant now, so if she needs a hand, make sure to help her out.â
Veronica nodded and hurried after her.
The moment Ellinor stepped out of the bathroom, she saw Veronica with her arms folded, looking at her seriously.
She ignored her and went to wash her hands.
Veronica was miffed and asked, âWhere have you been for the past six months?â
Ellinor squeezed some soap into her palm, lathered it up, and answered casually, âWhy do you care about where Iâve been?â
Veronica frowned. âIt is my business! Youâre my brotherâs wife; how can you just up and leave?â
Ellinor chuckled, âYouâve got it mixed up. Iâm not. Didnât your brotherâs wife just come with you?â
Veronica was taken aback, and then it clicked. âYou mean Sophia? Sheâs notâ¦â
âVeronica!â
A clear female voice interrupted Veronica.
It was Sophia, walking in with a smile.
Veronica didnât like Sophia, so she didnât bother to hide her displeasure. âWhat do you want?â
Sophia replied with a smile. âGranny asked me to fetch you.â
Veronica blinked. âGranny wants me? Whatâs up? Didnât she just ask me to accompany Ellinor to the bathroom?â
âYou have Grannyâs bag; it has her medicine in it.â
Veronica looked down, and sure enough, she was carrying Marissaâs purse.
Marissa mustâve gotten too excited after seeing Ellinor and needed to take some medicine to calm her nerves.
So Veronica didnât dare delay. âIâll get her medicine to her right away!â
After watching Veronica leave, Sophia took out a lipstick from her bag, walked to the mirror next to Ellinor, and started to touch up her makeup.
As she applied her lipstick, she glanced at Ellinor through the mirror while smiling brightly. âYouâre just as gorgeous as the rumors say, even without makeup. You changed your look yesterday, so why are you showing your true colors today?â
Ellinor rinsed off the soap from her hands, turned off the tap, and dried her hands leisurely. âTheo already spotted me, so thereâs no point in disguising myself.â
Sophia capped her lipstick. âMs. Mendoza, you seemed rather reluctant to be found by Theo, huh?â
Ellinor raised an eyebrow. âMs. Sophia, I guess youâd rather I wasnât found. But you can rest easy; I have no interest in him now, and I wonât threaten your position.â
Sophia laughed and shook her head. âNo, Iâd love to see you two reunite. Ms. Mendoza, Iâm glad to meet you!â
Ellinor squinted slightly, trying to figure out if Sophia was playing some other game.
