As I made my way through the bustling crowd, the cheers and chants of victory filled the air, a stark contrast to the inner swirling within me.Our university's football team won the final of the city. And guess who's the captain of the team? Aiden, the very person who had inflicted so much pain and humiliation upon me, stood at the center of it all.

Watching him revel in the glory of his achievements, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of resentment. How could someone so cruel also be so good at everything? It seemed unjust, unfair even, that someone like Aiden could excel at everything he put his mind to, while others struggled in his wake.

But as I stood there, amidst the jubilant celebration, a steely determination took hold within me. If Aiden could rise to the top despite his flaws, then surely I could do the same, armed with my own strengths and resilience. With a newfound resolve, I squared my shoulders and set my sights on carving out my own path to success, one that didn't depend on the approval or validation of others.

Ignoring all this and people celebrating his facade I move towards the class. Rose joins me from behind and we enter the class discussing random things.

As I sit on my seat I can't wait to see the moment when teacher plays the audio and Aiden's nerve get between my fingers.

The teacher entered the classroom with an air of authority, I could feel the tension in the room rise. My heart raced with anticipation, knowing that the moment of revelation was at hand. Would the teacher acknowledge the audio file I had submitted as evidence of Aiden's wrongdoing?

With each passing second, my anxiety mounted as the teacher distributed the assignments with a stoic expression, betraying no hint of emotion. My hopes wavered as I scanned the room, searching for any sign that she had received the audio file. But to my dismay, there was no reaction, no acknowledgment of the role it played in exposing Aiden's actions.

As the assignments were distributed and the class settled into a tense silence, my disappointment threatened to overwhelm me. It seemed as though my efforts had been in vain, and Aiden would once again escape consequences for his actions.

However, just as I began to resign myself to this bitter truth, the teacher's next words shattered the stillness of the room. With a strict tone, she called Aiden's name and instructed him to report to the principal's office immediately.

A surge of victory coursed through me as I watched Aiden's expression darken with apprehension. While the teacher's reaction may not have been as dramatic as I had hoped, it was clear that she was taking the matter seriously and holding Aiden accountable for his behavior.

As Aiden made his way out of the classroom, I couldn't suppress a small smile, knowing that my actions had set in motion a chain of events that would hold him to account for his actions.

.....................

As the minutes stretched into an hour and Aiden failed to return to the classroom, a sense of anticipation hung heavy in the air. Whispers rippled through the class like a wave, each student speculating on the reason for Aiden's prolonged absence. It was unheard of for him to miss class, let alone receive detention – a fact that only fueled the curiosity of his classmates.

I couldn't help but notice the puzzled expression on Rose's face, her brows furrowed in confusion as she voiced her thoughts aloud. "How could this happen?" she mused, her words tinged with uncertainty. It was clear that she, like many others, was struggling to make sense of Aiden's sudden fall from grace.

Meanwhile, I remained silent, my thoughts consumed by a mix of apprehension and satisfaction. While part of me wax satisfied at Aiden's detention, another part couldn't shake the nagging feeling of unease.

As the bell rang, signaling the end of class, the whispers grew louder, echoing the collective curiosity of the students. Aiden's detention was a topic of conversation that would linger long after the final bell had tolled.

.................

As I arrived home after a long and eventful day, thoughts of Aiden and the impending encounter with him lingered at the forefront of my mind. The anticipation of his reaction to the detention weighed heavily on me, adding a layer of tension to the air as I stepped through the threshold of my home.

My mother greeted me with warm smiles, their presence a comforting balm to the thoughts swirling in my mind. We settled in the cozy living room, the familiar scent of home enveloping us as we indulged in sandwiches and shared anecdotes from our respective days.

Through the laughter and chatter, my phone rang, Rose's voice pierced through the phone, she is excited as she relayed news of a party hosted by her cousin. The prospect of attending a social gathering filled me with apprehension, but Rose's words and infectious enthusiasm ultimately convinced me to join.

With a mixture of curiosity, I agreed to accompany Rose to the party, knowing that it would offer a welcome distraction from the events of the day. Little did I know that the evening would bring its own set of surprises and revelations, setting the stage for unexpected encounters and unforeseen consequences.

.....................

After retreating to the washroom to unwind, I carefully applied a hydrating mask to my face, the cool gel soothing my skin and offering a moment of relief from the day's events. With each gentle stroke, I felt the tension in my muscles gradually melt away, replaced by a sense of calm.

My eyes wandered over the room, taking in the familiar sight of my cherished belongings – the shelves lined with books that held countless stories and adventures, the framed photographs capturing cherished memories with loved ones, and the plush armchair nestled in the corner, a quiet sanctuary for moments of reflection and solitude.

As I settled onto the plush cushions of my bed, my sister Lily entered the room. With a playful grin, I ask her to join me in selecting tonight's attire, eager for her input and guidance in navigating the sartorial choices that lay before me. Together, we sifted through the array of garments  across the bed.

I didn't want to stand out with some fancy outfit as going to a new place is already a big thing to deal with so I end up wearing light blue baggy jeans and tucking my full sleeves black shirt in it, layering it with a black cropped blazer

.............

As I stepped out of the car, my gaze was immediately drawn to the grand mansion before me, its majestic facade illuminated by the soft glow of lamplight. Towering columns in the entrance, their imposing presence casting shadows that danced across the marble steps.

Rose emerged from the shadows, her figure against the flickering light of the fountain nearby. With a graceful smile, she welcomed me into the surroundings, her voice carrying a hint of excitement and anticipation.

"Amelia, you made it!" Rose exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with delight. "I'm so glad you could come. You're going to love it here – the party is just getting started!"

Returning her smile, I nodded eagerly, my curiosity bubbled up by the prospect of exploring the lavish interior of the mansion. "Thank you for inviting me, Rose," I replied, my voice tinged with appreciation. "This place is incredible. I can't wait to see what the evening has in store."

With that, Rose led the way, her laughter echoing through the night.

As Rose greeted me, I couldn't help but admire her outfit, which gave elegance and sophistication. She wore a stunning black dress adorned with lace detailing, its ethereal fabric cascading gracefully around her slender frame.

With a playful twirl, Rose gestured to her, a mischievous glint dancing in her eyes. "Amelia, darling, you look lovely as always," she remarked, her voice laced with amusement. "But why the casual attire? This is a party night , after all!"

I chuckled softly at her teasing tone, feeling a pang of self-consciousness at my more understated attire. "I suppose I didn't get the memo," I replied, offering a sheepish smile. "But who needs fancy dresses when you have good company, right?"

Rose's laughter echoed through the night air, her infectious energy infusing the moment with warmth and camaraderie. "You always know how to charm your way out of any situation, don't you?" she teased, linking her arm with mine as we continued our journey into the heart of the festivities.

As we stepped into the grand hallway, my eyes were immediately drawn to a striking figure standing in the crowd. Tall and handsomely dressed, he exuded an air of quiet confidence that commanded attention. His piercing gray eyes held a depth that seemed to captivate all who met his gaze.

Rose approached him with a warm smile, and I followed suit, offering a polite greeting as she introduced me to her companion. "Amelia, this is my older brother, Alexander," she said, her voice tinged with affection.

My curiosity piqued at the mention of another brother, especially one as handsome as Alexander. I couldn't help but notice the subtle resemblance between him and Aiden, from the sharp contours of his jaw to the intense gaze that mirrored his brother's.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Alexander," I said, extending my hand in greeting. His grip was firm yet gentle, and a faint smile played at the corners of his lips as he returned the gesture.

"The pleasure is mine, Amelia," he replied, his voice smooth and melodic. "I've heard a great deal about you from Rose. She speaks very highly of her new friend."

I returned his smile, feeling a sense of warmth and ease in his presence.

As we mingled with Rose's other friends, enjoying our drinks and engaging in lively conversation, a sudden shift in the atmosphere caught my attention. Rose's demeanor changed abruptly as Jason, the guy from the canteen, appeared unexpectedly.

I watched as Rose's expression faltered, her features betraying a sense of unease as Jason approached her. He leaned in close, whispering something in her ear, and I could see her tense up, her eyes closing briefly as if bracing herself for what was to come.

Before I could process what was happening, Jason reached out to take Rose's hand, leading her away from the group. I couldn't help but feel a sense of confusion and concern, wondering why Rose seemed so compliant in Jason's presence despite her obvious discomfort.

As they disappeared into the crowd, leaving me with a lingering sense of unease, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to their interaction than met the eye. Something about the way Jason exerted control over Rose, and her  obedience, left me with a nagging sense of foreboding.

I turned to Rose's friends, a sense of curiosity and concern tugging at me as I sought clarification about the unsettling encounter with Jason. Blair, with her cute shoulder-cut hairstyle and warm demeanor, seemed approachable, so I decided to ask her.

"Hey, Blair," I began tentatively, "I couldn't help but notice the interaction between Rose and Jason just now. Do you know what that was about?"

Blair regarded me with a sympathetic expression, understanding my confusion. "Oh, that's Jason," she explained gently, her voice tinge..d with empathy. "He's actually a close family friend of Rose's family, and... well, he's also her fiancé."

I felt a jolt of shock at Blair's revelation, my mind struggling to process the information. "Her fiancé?" I echoed, disbelief coloring my tone. "But she seemed so... uncomfortable around him."

Blair nodded, her expression mirroring my concern. "Yeah, I know it seems strange, but their relationship is... complicated," she admitted. "Rose has never been one to openly defy her family's wishes, even if it means sacrificing her own happiness."

I frowned, a surge of sympathy welling up within me for Rose. "That sounds really tough," I murmured, feeling a pang of sadness for my new friend. "I can't imagine being forced into a situation like that."

Blair gave me a sympathetic smile, placing a reassuring hand on my arm. "Yeah, it's not easy," she agreed. "But Rose is stronger than she looks. She'll find a way to handle it, I'm sure."

As I absorbed Blair's words, a sense of admiration welled up within me for Rose's strength. Despite the challenges she faced, she carried herself with grace and determination, a testament to her inner strength. And as her friend, I vowed to stand by her side, offering support and solidarity in whatever way I could.

As I excused myself from Rose's friends and made my way down the unfamiliar corridors in search of the bathroom, I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. The mansion's structure seemed to swallow me whole as I navigated the long hallways,.

Finally reaching what I hoped was the bathroom, I pushed open the heavy wooden door and stepped inside. But before I could even register my surroundings, a sudden force seized me from behind, dragging me into a room plunged into darkness.

With a startled gasp, I found myself on the cold, hard floor, my heart pounding furiously in my chest. Panic surged through me as I scrambled to my feet, my hands groping blindly for any way of an exit. But as my fingers grazed the smooth surface of the door, a sinking realization washed over me—it was locked.

Desperation clawed at my throat as I pounded on the door, my frantic shouts echoing off the walls of the confined space. Fear gripped me in its icy embrace, rendering me helpless and disoriented as I struggled to comprehend the gravity of the situation. Who had brought me here, and why?

My frantic attempts to escape were met with futile resistance, each thud against the door echoing in the oppressive silence of the room. But as my cries for help grew increasingly desperate, a voice sliced through the darkness like a blade, halting me in my tracks.

It was a voice steeped in authority, resonating with a commanding presence that sent a shiver down my spine. In the suffocating stillness of the room, his words hung heavy in the air, casting dread over my already shaken nerves.

"There's no use shouting," the voice intoned, its tone low and menacing. "This room is soundproof."

I froze, the weight of his words pressing down on me. The chilling realization that I was truly trapped rooted me to the spot. With a sinking heart, I understood that escape was not an option—that I was at the mercy of whoever lurked in the shadows, their intentions veiled in darkness.
