Chapter 827:
Etta was utterly spellbound, her tasks momentarily forgotten as she gazed in awe at Harleeâs elegance.
Previously, Etta had been reluctant to recognize Harleeâs beauty, often thinking of Harlee merely as unsophisticated.
But today, caught unexpectedly, she was completely struck by Harleeâs radiant transformation.
Harlee, noticing Ettaâs bewildered stare, snapped a hard candy between her teeth, tilted her head slightly, and casually said, âThe makeup artist got caught in traffic and wonât be here for another twenty minutes.
Can you please let the people at the venue know?â
âHuh? Oh, yes, of course.â Etta, still distracted, nodded slowly and then awkwardly left the room.
After Ettaâs departure, Harlee wasted no time and made a quick call to Rhys.
âWhatâs the latest with you?â
âWeâve pinpointed it.
Haleâs hideout is on an island just outside the suburbs, near Baythorn University,â Rhys said, while gesturing his team to prepare for the next steps.
Harlee mulled over this briefly.
âRight.â
âIâm sending Ritchie to back you up.â
Rhys accepted the plan without hesitation.
âAnd whatâs happening on your side? Any moves from Etta?â

Harlee eyed the water glass on the table briefly and then decided against it, opting instead for a fresh glass from the sterilizer to pour her drink.
âIt seems sheâs still awaiting instructions from Hale.â
A moment later, Harlee had a realization.
âIf you go now, catching Hale might be unlikely. Itâs unnecessary to send everyone.
A few people should be enough to scour his villa.â
Harlee understood Haleâs tendencies well.
He was probably observing from a hidden spot near the Grand Oak, biding his time for his plan to unfold.
Upon hearing this, Rhys immediately instructed Hamilton to halt everyone and then reallocated their tasks based on Harleeâs strategic input.
Hearing a noise, Harlee interrupted Rhys.
âI have to go.
Ettaâs back.â
âUnderstood. Iâll make my way back as well,â Rhys replied.
Expecting Etta, Harlee was surprised to instead see Nyomi at the door.
âWhy are you here, Nyomi?â Harlee asked.
Nyomi, with a nervous smile and clutching her dress, said, âI couldnât bear missing such a significant event as your engagement banquet. I felt it wasnât right for me to attend, yet here I am, wanting to be part of it.â
Harlee welcomed Nyomi warmly, saying, âYour presence is appropriate and important, Nyomi. You are as significant as any other guest tonight.â
