Chapter 802:
âMake no mistake, Iâm fully aware of your schemes.
Harlee holds a cherished place in our family. Should you attempt any underhanded actions, be assured I will not overlook it!â
A slight twitch marred Joseâs brow before he masked it with a courteous smile.
âDad, youâre overthinking it. I fully support Rhysâ choice of partner.â
Despite his words, Joseâs resentment toward Harlee only intensified.
Had he any say in the Green family, he would have stopped at nothing to tear Harlee and Rhys apart.
Nathanielâs scowl deepened upon hearing this.
âYouâd better mean your words!â
Jose nodded calmly.
âI wouldnât dare have any opposing ideas.â
Nathaniel pressed on.
âYouâre upset because you have no real authority in this family. You donât even have the guts to admit it, but you still try to come up with some lousy plan?â
Joseâs hands, resting on his knees, clenched tightly. Yet, he soon relaxed his grip, bowing his head silently to absorb Nathanielâs scolding.
Even though he seemed subdued, a hint of defiance shone in his eyes.
Just then, Belinda came in and was startled to find Nathaniel and Jose seated together in the living room. She couldnât understand why they shared the same sofa.

Belindaâs astonishment was understandable, given that during her long years married into the Green family, such a scene had been rare.
With a warm smile, Belinda naturally took on the role of peacemaker.
âNathaniel, have you had lunch yet?â
With a gentle voice, Nathaniel said, âYes.â
Despite his usual reservations about Belinda, Nathaniel appreciated her kindness and thus treated her with more warmth than he did his own son.
Nathaniel then asked, âDid you visit the Sanderson residence to see Harlee today? I heard Rhys was there too.
Did you discuss the engagement party details?â
Belinda nodded slightly.
âYes, Iâve discussed everything with Skyla.â
Her expression then shifted to one of intrigue, hinting at a secret yet to be revealed.
Clearing her throat for effect, she signaled the servants to bring in four hefty boxes of dresses.
âYou wonât believe the bombshell I stumbled upon today.â
Jose, always willing to humor his wife, played along, saying, âDoes it involve the Sanderson family? Perhaps some juicy scandal?â
Belinda shot him a glare.
âWhat nonsense are you talking about?â
Jose awkwardly rubbed his nose.
Nathaniel, tapping his cane, eyed the large boxes curiously.
