Chapter 50:
Adelinaâs car was worth millions.
Could Harlee really top that? Not even possible.
âAre you certain?â Harlee arched an eyebrow.
Phoebe scoffed, raising her tone.
âYes, Iâm certain.
Everyone here can vouch.
But if you fail, youâll kneel and apologize to me.â
Harlee crossed her arms, a cold smile playing on her lips.
Phoebe mocked, âWhatâs the matter? Getting cold feet?â
âDeal.â Harlee nodded in acceptance.
Everyone looked at Harlee as though she had lost her mind for agreeing to such a thing out of provocation. Perhaps being expelled from the Gill family had impacted her this deeply.
No one believed Harlee possessed a car superior to Adelinaâs, except for Rhys, who remained unperturbed.
âAlright then. Show us your car now,â Phoebe said, hands on her hips, a smirk playing on her lips.
Adelina added fuel to the fire.
âHarlee, donât be so headstrong. The car I got you suits you perfectly.
Donât be like thisâ¦â
âShut up.â Harlee shot a look at Adelina for being too noisy.
Your escape begins at gⱯlnÏνð®âsâ¤com
In response to Harleeâs blunt response, Adelina put on a wounded face.
Phoebe and the others scowled at Harlee.
âAdelina, just ignore her. Sheâs ungrateful.â Phoebe turned to Harlee and demanded, âShow the car! Or issue a public apology!â
Harlee remained still.
âWhatâs the matter? Where is your car?â Phoebe mocked.
Adelina and her group were visibly enjoying this.
Harlee looked toward the entrance.
âThereâs been a delay.â
âOh, man! Still pretending!â
âIf you donât have it, just admit it.
Delayed, really? Are you trying to stall?â
âLetâs see how long she can keep this up.â
âIâve never seen someone so desperate to maintain their facade.â
âShe ought to just admit it. Soon, weâll see her apologize.â
âI canât wait to see that happen.â
Just as Phoebe moved to confront Harlee, a commotion erupted at the entrance.
âMy car has arrived,â Harlee announced with composure.
Everyone turned to look at the same time. Instantly, the entire place fell silent.
A sleek black racing car with vivid red patterns, resembling a powerful beast poised to strike, slowly rolled in from the entrance, its surface gleaming in the sunlight.
