“I came here to put a stop to this,” he declared firmly.

“Keep your distance from Harlee, or I won’t hold back next time,” he said sternly, his voice low.

Though Harlee felt sympathy for Rhys, she recognized that if she were in Brenton’s place, she might have reacted more harshly.

She leaned in close and whispered in Brenton’s ear, “I kind of like him…”
