Chapter 448:
âGood evening, Wilton and Belen.â
Wilton gave a little nod.
As he turned, his eyes met Harleeâs distant gaze, and a strong feeling of familiarity flooded over him.
He walked past Rhys and went straight to Harlee.
âItâs you! Youâre the one who saved us! Do you remember me?â
Harlee, slightly taken aback, furrowed her brows in confusion.
Belen joined them, her face lighting up as she recalled the past.
âDonât you remember? Last year, on Raven Mountain, you saved us from a blizzard.â
A year ago, Wilton had received a call from a local about an ancient tomb located halfway up the mountain.
Both he and Belen, passionate collectors of antiques, had set out without delay.
However, halfway through their journey, they were caught in a snowstorm, stranded and freezing.
As despair threatened, Harlee had emerged as their savior, ensuring their safety at a local hospital. She only left once their recovery was assured.
Reminded of the event, Harlee responded with a modest smile, âReally, it was no big deal.â
âHow can you say that?â Belen exclaimed, her eyes gleaming with gratitude.
âPlease, may we have your contact details? We would be honored to invite you for dinner sometime.â
The sincerity of her request made it difficult for Harlee to refuse.

âOf course.â Harlee agreed.
Rhys, observing quietly, felt a swell of pride.
Harleeâs heroic act was a testament to her character.
Clint shared the same sentiment, appreciating the high regard the Morgans, a family of repute, held for his sister.
As their conversation deepened, Wilton and Belen learned Harlee was the Sanderson familyâs long-lost daughter and expressed regret for falling ill when the Sanderson family held the banquet, losing the chance to get to know her sooner.
During this exchange, Harlee learned that Lindsay was their daughter, leaving her puzzled as to how such noble parents had raised someone as terrible as Lindsay.
As soon as Wilton and Belen left, Rhys took advantage of the moment when Clint was briefly distracted to whisper to Harlee, âWilton and Belen have dedicated their lives to archaeology. They had originally decided against having children because of their demanding schedules.
But when Belen unexpectedly became pregnant, they couldnât bring themselves to end the pregnancy, so they decided to keep Lindsay. Since they were unable to care for her, they decided to have Lindsay raised by her grandfather.â
As Rhys concluded, Clint, who always had an ear for gossip, intervened.
âHarlee, itâs getting late. We should head home,â he suggested.
Noticing Rhys and Harlee seemed eager to keep chatting, Clint quickly took Harlee by the arm and led her away.
Clint couldnât risk their brothers discovering that he had allowed Harlee to linger with Rhys just to satisfy his own curiosity. They would be furious.
Harlee gave a resigned shrug.
