Chapter 438:
Meanwhile, a technical glitch temporarily halted the live broadcast.
Noticing Clint seated by himself, Kelley left her group of friends and made her way over to him with purposeful strides.
âClintâ¦â she called out, her voice dripping with an almost sugary sweetness.
Clintâs eyebrows knitted together, and he edged away slightly, confusion apparent in his tone.
âSorry, but who are you?â
Kelleyâs demeanor crumpled into that of a heartbroken lover, full of grievance.
âClint, itâs me, Kelley! We just starred in the same drama that aired recently. I even played your first love.
How could you have forgotten me already?â she said, her voice thick with emotion.
Behind them, Harlee and Tiffany walked over side by side.
Harleeâs face was a mask of cool indifference, but a mischievous smirk played at the corners of her lips. She caught Clintâs gaze and greeted him with a playful grin, her tone mimicking Kelleyâs.
âClintâ¦â
Clint was utterly dumbstruck.
His entire body trembled uncontrollably. While he was supposed to be thrilled by Harleeâs soft tone, hinting at their closeness even after being separated for decades, it felt unnervingly bizarre to him.
Harleeâs slender finger lingered at her lips, her eyebrows knitting in a subtle cue.
Clint grasped her silent message in an instant, shifting seamlessly into a tender, affable expression.

How could he resist when his sister reveled in such elaborate jests? He wholeheartedly embraced her antics.
From the corner of her eye, Tiffany observed Harlee and Clint with a hint of envy. The duoâs lighthearted mischief was captivating! Oh, how she longed to join in on their playful chatterâ¦
Standing nearby, Kelleyâs expression was marred by a shadow of jealousy and bitterness. Why? Why did Clint not even bat an eye at her after she had been coy and sweet around him for half a year, yet Harlee, whom she assumed had just gotten in through connections, instantly charmed him? She couldnât accept this.
What did Harlee possess that she did not?
Clint flashed a smile at Harlee, his voice smooth and soft as he asked, âFeeling hungry? How about we get something to eat?â
âAbsolutely!â Harleeâs voice was honey-dripped sweet.
She then turned her head toward Tiffany, her voice shifting back to a more laid-back tone.
âYou wanna come along?â
Tiffany initially wanted to decline, but catching sight of Kelleyâs visibly annoyed expression, she quickly agreed. There was something satisfying about seeing Kelley so frustrated! The sight brought a smile to her face.
Leading the way, Harlee and Tiffany strode forward, with Clint following a step behind, acting every bit the protective bodyguard. They made their way casually toward the reception area that Spheredale had organized for the occasion.
Upon their arrival, Spheredale rushed up to them, clasping Harleeâs hand with evident relief.
âOh, my dear, youâre here at last! I thought youâd really not show up after turning down my invitation.â
