Chapter 379:
Ritchie had harbored thoughts of revenge upon discovering Collinâs actions, but now he felt an odd, almost unjustified sympathy for him.
Facing Harleeâs vengeance was a fate far grimmer than death itself! Fortunately for Collin, his time had not yet come.
Ritchie subtly arched an eyebrow, his voice tinged with a hint of disappointment as he informed Harlee, âThat rascalâs made a break for Uwhor. Robbie Herreraâs already on his trail. Once youâve sorted out your business here, itâs your turn to put an end to his mischief.â
Harlee nodded slightly, thinking it wasnât worth making a special trip for a scoundrel. She chose to delay Collinâs end, granting him a brief extension.
Meanwhile, Rhys had just settled some lingering family issues and found himself near the Sanderson estate, his car parked discreetly a short distance away. The regularity of his visits left him wondering if they were fostering or fracturing the budding relationship between them.
Compelled by the pull of his heartstrings, Rhys found himself drawn once again to this place, desiring to see Harlee.
Leaning against the cool metal of his car, cigarette in hand, Rhys watched as Etta emerged from the villa.
âMr. Green? What a coincidence seeing you here.
Are you expecting someone?â Etta asked, a note of playful curiosity in her voice.
Rhys gave her a nonchalant glance, his deep-set eyes shadowed with indifference.
Etta approached with a coquettish sway, her voice sugary as she teased, âMr. Green, surely you havenât forgotten about me already? Remember, we met just last night right here in the courtyardâ¦â

A smirk briefly played on Rhysâ lips as he contemplated her shallow antics.
Choosing to remain aloof, he silently snuffed out his cigarette, sidestepped her lingering conversation, and sauntered toward the driverâs seat.
Etta swiftly caught up to him.
âMr. Green, would you care to come inside for a moment?â she inquired with a hopeful glint in her eye.
Rhys, however, remained distant. Without a momentâs hesitation, he shut the car door with a firm click, unconcerned whether Ettaâs body might get caught in it.
Etta acted shocked by Rhysâ brusque behavior and dramatically collapsed to the ground.
Her scheme was to create a scene that would compel Rhys to carry her back to the Sanderson estate, much to Harleeâs dismay. Yet, Rhys displayed no compassion.
Even as Ettaâs skirt became trapped in the car door, he showed no signs of concern.
Caught off guard, Etta failed to notice a stone in her path.
A sharp tear echoed through the air as she tumbled beside the car, her skirt riding up and revealing too much.
Etta let out several screams, each louder than the last, attempting to gather an audience.
Lying pitifully on the ground, Etta cast a pleading glance at Rhys, still inside the car.
Her tone softened to a sugary plea.
