Chapter 339:
Today, Harleeâs demeanor was notably less hostile than usual.
Her usual chill had receded slightly, leaving only a trace of frost on her smile.
Collin, ever overconfident in his schemes and charm, misread Harleeâs response as a sign of thawing feelings, convinced that his genuine efforts had finally begun to melt her resolve.
His smirk was as self-assured as the way he leaned closer to her.
âAlright. Iâll book the place and swing by to pick you up. Sound good?â he remarked with a slick, unsettling smoothness in his voice.
Harlee gave a soft huff of disdain, turning away to seek refuge with Dorsey and the others.
âWeâll see about that,â she replied noncommittally before swiftly exiting the scene.
Collin stared down at the boxes of coffee, a self-satisfied grin spreading across his face.
His strategies for wooing her seemed to be paying off.
He had hardly put in much effort, yet Harlee seemed to be reconsidering, perhaps ready to let him back into her life.
He was confident that he would soon have the Sanderson family wrapped around his finger.
But his complacency was short-lived. The very next day, he would learn the harsh repercussions of his actions.

At the George familyâs home, after receiving a call from Ritchie, Barbara quickly called Freyja to come home. They spent the afternoon carefully considering their options and, after much deliberation, decided on what they wanted and the best proposal to present to Harlee.
With Harleeâs class about to end, Barbara took Freyja to the Grand Oakâs private room to wait.
As Harlee walked in, Barbara was sitting poised and graceful on the sofa, her eyes locked on her daughter sitting beside her, as if silently planning something for Freyja.
Freyja sat on a wooden stool, absorbed in her phone, perhaps editing something.
âMiss Sanderson,â Barbara greeted, both she and Freyja rising to meet Harlee as she entered.
Harlee nodded slightly, signaling them to stay seated.
âLetâs order first.
Choose whatever you like.â She then picked up the menu and considered it carefully.
Freyja seemed confused. She glanced at her mother, who was also focused on the menu, and hesitantly took her own to join in.
Soon, the dishes Harlee had ordered were served.
After asking the waiter to leave, Harlee took a piece of salmon and tasted it. Then, she raised her head to look at Barbara and Freyja, her voice neutral.
âHave you decided? Working with me will involve the whole George family.â
As Harlee spoke, she looked toward Freyja, examining her closely.
Harleeâs presence was commanding, and despite trying to stay calm, Freyja was noticeably affected.
