Chapter 320:
A conspiratorial look passed between Lillie and Angela. Lillie rose, a crafty smile playing on her lips, an expression shared by Angela.
âAngela, letâs go see what clothes they have outside.â
Lillie and Angela were led by the assistant to the main shopping area, where Skyla was closely inspecting a black dress, unaware of the hostile eyes on her.
Lillie managed to keep her cool facade, but Angelaâs eyes betrayed her irritation at Skylaâs disregard for them despite the assistantâs enthusiastic instructions.
At last, Lillie approached with a casual greeting.
âMrs. Sanderson, what a surprise to find you here with your daughter.â
Skyla looked over briefly with disinterest, then, seemingly not recognizing them, grasped Harleeâs hand and moved on.
âHave we seen enough here? Should we head to another shop?â Skyla and Lillie had known each other in high school.
Back then, the Juarez family had less wealth than the Hiltons, and Lillie had led the class in ostracizing Skyla.
âAbsolutely,â Harlee responded.
Suppressing her anger, Lillie spoke in a gentle tone.

âSkyla, itâs been ages since we last met after you changed schools during your high school years, hasnât it? I heard you were here with your daughter and couldnât believe it was really you! Oh, your expression says it all. You donât recognize me, do you? Iâm Lillieâthe one who used to sit behind you.â
Angela, noting her motherâs demeanor, quickly masked her irritation. The Hilton familyâs financial situation had taken a sharp downturn recently, and Angela saw the urgent need to undermine Harlee. She believed that doing so was the only way to solidify her chance to become Rhysâ fiancée and carve a new path for her family.
Skyla snorted, as if just noticing them, lazily raising her eyes with a dismissive tone.
âOh, itâs you⦠Itâs been ages. I barely remember you.â
Lillie was undeterred and kept the conversation going.
âI could see by your face. It was only from our old classmates that I recently learned you had married into the Sanderson family. I would have reached out sooner otherwise.
Here I am, chatting away.â
âLet me introduce you to my daughter, Angela.
Angela, say hello to Mrs. Sanderson.â
Lillie gently nudged Angela forward, acting as though she were unaware of the past misdemeanors Angela had committed at the Sanderson family banquet.
âHello, Mrs. Sanderson,â Angela said with formal politeness.
Skyla looked at Angela with a hint of mockery and laughed lightly.
âI didnât expect your family to be so much trouble.â
Lillieâs expression chilled. She grasped the hint but restrained her anger, aware of the depth of Skyla and Belindaâs friendship. Only a scandal involving Harlee could stop her from marrying Rhys. She was determined to see her daughter, whom she had meticulously groomed, marry into the Green family.
