Chapter 316:
Liam, both furious and humiliated, yelled, âYou! What was the point of all those years we raised you? Iâm telling you, youâre coming back with us today!â
âLet go!â Harleeâs voice was low and menacing, her expression stern and cautious, her eyes cold and sharp as she looked at them.
Liamâs body stiffened, his muscles tensed, and his outstretched hand halted midair, afraid to move.
Averie, feeling self-conscious, pulled her hand back. The instant she locked eyes with Harlee, a cold shiver pierced through her, as though needles were pricking her arm, compelling her to release her grip.
Just then, Collin stylishly pushed open the car door and approached the three of them.
He removed his sunglasses with a devil-may-care charm, smiling as he tried to mediate.
âHarlee, despite everything, Liam and Averie did raise you for twenty years. They might not have done much, but they tried. You shouldnât treat them this harshly.â
Harlee frowned at Collinâs annoying presence and stepped back, her expression restrained and controlled.
Her eyes, fiery red like a wild animalâs, appeared on the brink of madness.
Collin misread her controlled appearance as hidden fondness.
He moved closer, raised an eyebrow, and spoke with charm.
âHarlee, donât suppress your feelings for me.â
âI agree to be with you.â

Harlee was hit by a wave of nausea, as though something in her stomach was about to rise and spill out.
Her lips tightened into a thin line, and an intense, intimidating aura surrounded her.
âShut up! Donât make me turn violent!â
Remembering the past damage heâd suffered, Collin involuntarily trembled. Yet, as his eyes lowered, he noticed Liam and Averie.
He bet that Harlee wouldnât act out in front of them and thought her anger was just a childish outburst. With that in mind, he raised an eyebrow and said, âHarâ¦â
But before he could complete his sentence, Harleeâs hand slapped his face. In a split second, a distinct handprint appeared on his right cheek.
Collin stared wide-eyed, full of disbelief.
âYouââ
Another slap followed. With each word Collin tried to speak, Harlee responded with another slap, each more forceful than the last.
Before Collin could even finish a short phrase, his face was swollen beyond recognition.
Collin was thoroughly humiliated.
He glared at Harlee, his eyes seething with rage, yet he held back any further words.
Liam and Averie were stunned by the sudden turn of events.
By the time they managed to react, Collin had already been slapped a dozen times. Their faces darkened.
