Chapter 275:
He quickly stepped aside to let the man pass, holding his breath until the man was far enough away before letting out a sigh of relief.
âPhew. That was a close one,â Fritz muttered under his breath. Patting his chest, he hurried back to his own floor. On a dark, windy night, it felt safest to remain in his room.
Rhys came down from the top floor and went straight to the VIP presidential suite, room 502.
He sat quietly on the couch, listening as Merritt Hinks, the new manager of their operations in Claelia, updated him on the latest developments.
Merritt said, âMr. Green, weâve got reliable information that the Shakica family is planning to capitalize on Aaronâs incident to create chaos. They aim to take over all our assets in Claelia.
According to a source I placed inside the Shakica family, Benedict is currently hiding in the casino, seemingly gearing up for an upcoming underground auction.â
Merritt was sweating profusely.
Benedict had been a formidable player in Claelia for years, his influence saturating both the government and the military. To him, losing a major general was insignificant. Taking control of Aaronâs resources quickly, without retaliation from the Shakica family, was nearly impossible with just Rhysâ current forces in Claelia.
Rhys stood and moved to the large window, looking down at the busy streets below, his expression unreadable.
âThen letâs take down the casino he prizes most.â His tone was tinged with casualness, as if he were merely commenting on his meal for the day.

The Shakica family was a tough enemy, but Rhys figured he still had enough manpower to consider taking down a casino.
âAlright, Iâll start on the arrangements.â After a brief pause, Merritt continued, âThe spy who released Karina has been killed.
He belonged to the Shakica family.â
âIt appears theyâve infiltrated us quite early.
Benedict must be really upset with my operations in Claelia,â Rhys said, his anger evident as he quietly tapped on the table.
âGet two tickets for the casino. I want to meet Benedict!â
âYes, sir!â
Rhys gestured dismissively. Merritt stepped back, bowed with respect, and left the room slowly.
As Merritt approached the elevator, he nearly bumped into Harlee, who was descending from the upper floor. Merrittâs pupils narrowed, and he was taken aback by the intimidating aura Harlee exuded, even more so than Rhysâ.
And this was just their first encounter.
Merritt surmised the upcoming high-stakes auction for rare jade stones that Benedict was organizing seemed to have drawn quite a crowd. Therefore, the plan to sabotage the casino needed to be expedited.
He quickly lowered his gaze and pressed the close button.
