Chapter 219:
âThatâs impossible!â Angela snapped, unable to contain herself.
âImpossible, you say?â A fierce glint appeared in Harleeâs eyes. In one swift motion, she kicked out her leg, knocking Sherman out of his wheelchair and onto the floor.
As Harlee raised her foot for another strike, Sherman scrambled to his feet in panic.
âIsnât the wheelchair supposed to bind you, as Angela claimed?â Harleeâs tone was icy, and her expression stern.
âIâll give you one last chance. Will you apologize?â
Sherman, his pride crumbling under the threat, quickly bowed his head, his voice trembling.
âIâm sorry⦠Iâm so sorry. It was my fault. You are the most forgiving person in the world. Please forgive meâ¦â
With his pride now discarded, Sherman had no choice but to beg for Harleeâs forgiveness, realizing he was at her mercy.
Others might not know, but Rolland was acutely aware that Harleeâs seemingly gentle kick had damaged his internal organs.
Despite seeing his son apologize, Rollandâs pride remained unshaken.
Harlee sneered.
âI heard Sherman is the only real man in the Hilton familyâ¦â
Rollandâs face flushed with frustration.

âWhat⦠What are you planning to do? Iâm warning you, Callum is here. If you think you can act rashly, do you really believeâ¦â
âWhat will you do?â Harlee interrupted him, casting him a dismissive look and a cunning smile.
Rolland stuttered, his face reddening with irritation. Suddenly, someone burst out laughing, and soon the entire room was filled with laughter.
âHa-ha! Just look at the Hilton family. They still wonât apologize.
Do they think theyâre untouchable?â
âOh, donât embarrass them like that. Just look at Rollandâs eyes.
He looks like he wants to tear Miss Sanderson apart, but clearly, heâs not up to the task.â
âWhen will they stop this ridiculous act? Itâs getting boring.â The relentless teasing made Rollandâs face turn even redder with humiliation.
Angela kept her head down, avoiding eye contact, unable to reconcile the fact that she, once the most sought-after socialite, had become the subject of mockery. She blamed everything on Harlee. If Harlee hadnât gotten engaged to Rhys, she wouldnât have let jealousy cloud her judgment and instigate her father to stir up trouble.
Harlee must have gotten engaged to Rhys just to deliberately get under her skin! That must be it!
Angela was consumed by her burning jealousy. She was convinced that Harlee had set out to ruin her reputation solely because of her close ties with Rhys.
What Angela didnât realize was that Harlee had no idea who she was.
