Chapter 193:
From what Harlee knew of Etta, Etta was likely involved in Lindaâs plan. Yet, Harlee had no desire to confront Etta just yet, nor did she intend to handle Linda directly now.
This was a game she and Tonya frequently played, keeping their enemies as close as possible.
Her strategy was to let her enemies grow overly confident over the supposed assumption of having things under their control.
Once they felt unbeatable, sheâd deliver a decisive blow at the opportune moment, aiming to ensure this would be a lesson theyâd remember forever.
Drawing her attention back, Harleeâs eyes found Tonya, who was gleefully watching the unfolding chaos from a corner.
âYou, come do my makeup.â
Tonya instantly embraced her role as the center of attention.
âMe? Really?â
Harlee gave a confirming nod.
Tonyaâs face brightened as if she had just won a major prize, nodding with enthusiasm.
âMiss Sanderson, it would be a great honor.
Doing your makeup would be a privilege of a lifetime.â
When Linda returned from discarding the bottle of foundation and overheard this, she scoffed.

âHer? An honor? How hilarious!â
Linda then looked at Tonya from head to toe, finding no prior recollection, and mockingly said to Harlee, âMiss Sanderson, I understand your upbringing didnât teach you the etiquette of high society.
Allow me to give you some advice. If you have a mere temp do your makeup today, you will just embarrass yourself and the Sanderson family. I wonât take offense for what you did to me just now, and you donât need to apologize. Now, sit down and let me do your makeup, Miss Sanderson.â
Linda touched the bag of powder in her pocket, thankful she hadnât discarded it earlier. Originally, she was in this for the five million from Etta, but now her motive had shifted to simply humiliating Harlee.
Yet, the scenario Linda had envisioned did not happen, and Kane showed up instead.
Harlee let out a cold, dismissive chuckle and then gestured.
âKane, would you please show the irrelevant individuals out?â
Kane addressed Linda courteously, âIf you would, kindly take your belongings and exit.â
âYouâ¦â Linda balled her fists tightly, her knuckles cracking.
âFine by me! The Sanderson family is really something else! Miss Sanderson, Iâll ensure everyone hears about your rudeness!â
Kane ignored Linda and respectfully said to Harlee, âMiss Sanderson, the makeup products you requested have been arranged upstairs. You may proceed with this makeup artist.â
Harlee stepped forward to take Tonyaâs hand.
But Tonya, still lost in her role, shook her head dramatically, overwhelmed, continuing to play up her part for another ten minutes before finally ascending the stairs with Harlee.
