Chapter 186:

“Sure.” The Sanderson family agreed together, all except the overlooked Fletcher.

Fletcher was her fifth elder brother, and Harlee didn’t want to cause discomfort.

“Apologies, yours got ruined. You’ll need to find something else for the banquet.”

Fletcher gave her a resentful look and said, “Humph. Who cares?” He stormed off.

Brenton laughed.

“At last, Fletcher seems to be coming around. No need to clean up his mess anymore.”

Skyla playfully hit him on the back of his head as she said, “What are you talking about?”

“Mom, honestly, don’t you think Fletcher is a bit too dim to be one of us?”

Skyla was at a loss for words as she realized Brenton was right.

Brenton chuckled.

“Mom, you see, you can’t even respond. I…”

Brenton’s head received another smack, this time from Lonnie.

“No more teasing your brother.”

The group headed to Harlee’s room. Kane swung the door open with a strong push.

“Oh, did you design all of this?” Skyla’s eyes grew wide with astonishment. Upon closer examination, she recognized the style and embroidery resembled that of the leading designer at Janessa Studio.

“Harlee, these look like…”

Harlee gave Skyla a nod and then introduced herself with confidence to everyone.

“I am actually the lead designer for Janessa Studio.”

All but Kareem were visibly taken aback.

“Oh my god! Harlee, you’re incredible! I just got back, and here you are with such an electrifying surprise.”

“That explains why the setups I arranged didn’t impress you.”

“Ah, Harlee, you truly are my pride!”

Their expressions of astonishment continued.

At the Sanderson family’s estate, Callie, bending over, dragged Etta back to the maid’s quarters on the first floor. With the door clicking shut, Etta, who had been feigning unconsciousness, abruptly sat up on the sofa, perfectly fine.

“Etta, I’m so relieved you’re okay,” Callie said in relief.

Etta fixed her with a resentful glare.

“You useless old woman!” In the hall, Etta had put on an act of fainting, hoping to draw sympathy from the Sanderson family. To her dismay, they ignored her and joyfully went off with Harlee to try on clothes.

Etta was simmering with fury.

Harlee had not only claimed her place but also sought to take the affection meant for her.

Resolved to make things difficult for Harlee, she decided to snatch Harlee’s fiancé as a way to get back.
