Chapter 158:
Harlee reflected on her situation. She was being too reactive and needed to find a way to initiate.
âOkay, Tonya, continue monitoring Matteoâs locations for me. Once Iâve sorted things out here, Iâll head back to Uwhor to meet up with you.â
Tonyaâs mouth turned up in a smile.
âNo need. Iâll come to you.â
Harlee feigned a completely unsurprised expression and nodded.
âHarlee, whatâs with that look?â
Harlee chuckled and said, âOkay, Iâm not teasing you anymore. What made you decide to come back all of a sudden?â
âTake a guess,â Tonya teased.
Harlee took a bite of the delicious lobster, savoring the flavor before responding, âItâs either for a man or for food. Is there a third possible reason for you?â
âYouâre so irritating! Itâs neither this time!â Tonya pouted.
âSend me five hundred, and Iâll spill the beans.â
Harlee sent over one million instead.
âDoes this make you happy?â
âLooks like leaving that heartless Gill family has done wonders for your wealth. I love the generosity!â
âAre you going to tell me or not?â Harlee arched an eyebrow, her expression mixed with a touch of frustration. She allowed herself to soften only when she was with Tonya.

Compared to her past with the Gill family and her present with the Sanderson family, Tonya felt more like her true family, and she was Tonyaâs only family in the world.
Tonya went on about her reasons for coming back, and it turned out Harlee was spot on about it involving men and food.
As their conversation continued, the topic changed.
âHarlee, howâs the Sanderson family?â
Thinking about the Sanderson familyâs treatment of her, Harlee nodded.
âEverythingâs fine, except for the somewhat brainless fifth brother.â
âBrainless?â
Harlee brought up Etta.
âTsk, youâre destined to meet manipulative people, arenât you? They seem to find you wherever you go,â Tonya said with annoyance.
âJust wait. Iâll come back and sort out those manipulators for you.â
At that moment, Tonya suddenly grew excited.
âOh, by the way, about Rhys, the one you mentioned last time.
Did anything develop between you two?â
âNo.â Harleeâs expression was unchanging as she looked up.
âReally?â
âTonya,â Harlee said, her tone more serious than ever.
âIâve told you before.
