Chapter 1367:
Serena and Tania now shared a living space. To keep the operation under wraps, Harlee chose not to involve Serena. Instead, Harlee brought Jianna over from T&H Island.
âHarlee,â Jianna called out.
As Harlee looked up, Jianna questioned, âWill it cause suspicion if I just appear out of nowhere? Should we prepare more thoroughly?â
Harleeâs expression hardened as she replied, âNo need. Tania isnât that sharp.â If Tania had been clever, she wouldnât have let her own actions give her away.
Harlee was certain that Tania had spun the tale about being bullied by a group of men after her supposed rebirth. Nola, knowing Tonya as she did, was sure Tonya would never have arranged that sort of plot.
Jianna gave a nod and moved aside. Just then, Robbie and Patrick arrived together.
âAny news?â Harlee asked, glancing up at them.
Robbie took the lead in reporting, saying, âYou were right, Harlee. A woman named Nola Happer had indeed been grooming Tania.â

Tania, originally Shayla Happer, was a mountain girl Nola had found. Shayla was nimble and excellent at assuming other identities.
âA month before our island visit, Shayla was assimilated into those islanders. After orchestrating a show where she was assaulted by men, she was relocated to a mountain cave, and her identity went unquestioned from then on,â Robbie said, dragging out the end of his sentence. âThiago had to be extremely careful to discover this without alerting anyone.â
âIs it my turn yet?â Patrick chimed in, his eyebrows arching in anticipation.
âIf youâre done, Iâm ready to share my findings. Theyâre quite intriguing!â Patrick added specifically.
Robbie responded with a dismissive roll of his eyes.
Robbieâs familiarity with Patrick had reached a point where they could predict each otherâs actions without uttering a word. As Robbie launched an attempt to catch Patrick off guard, Patrick deftly sidestepped and realigned, eagerly asking, âHarlee, are you aware of Nolaâs latest disguise? Indeed, youâve hit the nail on the head. Sheâs currently hiding under the guise of a member safeguarded by the Happer family in Baythorn! Isnât it fascinating to think about how she integrated herself into the Happer family?â
Continuing his train of thought, Patrick added, âThatâs correct! Sheâs impersonating Serena!â
This news did not surprise Harlee. Serena had remarked the previous evening that the Happers in Baythorn had not sought their lost daughter. This either indicated a lack of concern or that an imposter had taken her place. While Harlee wasnât deeply knowledgeable about the Happer family, she was well-versed in Nolaâs tactics. The idea of âa young childâs identity being stolenâ might seem incredible, but with Nola as the impersonator, it turned entirely plausible.
Nola possessed endless strategies for altering the truth and adeptly masking her identity. The only piece Harlee couldnât figure out was how Nola had evaded the DNA checks. At the time of Serenaâs rescue, Serenaâs relationship with the Fletcher family hadnât yet fully deteriorated. Could it be that Nola was aware of Serenaâs identity then and utilized Serenaâs DNA to finalize her scheme?
This realization made Harlee shudder. She had not previously considered that Nolaâs plot had been underway for over a decade.
With a stern tone, Harlee questioned, âIs there anyone monitoring our location?â
Patrick, noticing Harleeâs undisturbed demeanor, felt a surge of frustration and dejectedly commented, âSo far, no one has been detected, but itâs hard to guarantee that weâre completely unobserved. All I can say for sure is that no one is close enough to overhear our confidential talks.â Should that happen, Rhysâ prestige as the leader of Sovereign of the Underworld would be compromised.
