Chapter 1330:
Robbie, Patrick, and a few others nearby sneered at the exchange, their amusement evident as they regarded Samson dismissively.
Samson clenched his fists at his sides. He was aware of Harleeâs distinguished status but hadnât anticipated her boldness, or the mockery from her companions. Internally, he scoffed. He was curious to see how long Harlee could maintain her haughty demeanor.
With a grim expression, Samson continued forward, indifferent to whether they followed.
Harlee, ignoring his attitude, gently took Rhysâ hand and stood up.
Serena approached them, visibly concerned, attempting to voice her worries, but Harlee signaled for silence with a shake of her head and a reassuring squeeze of Serenaâs hand.
Serena remained anxious. Samson wasnât someone who would easily take them to Valentin. She turned and gently grasped Harleeâs hand. âI can go. Youâ¦â
Harlee interrupted with a cold glance, detaching her hand. âI find this quite fascinating.â
With that, she followed Samson.

After wandering through several corridors, Samson guided them through a hidden door into a narrow passage, accommodating only a single person at a time.
Harlee observed their surroundings thoughtfully. The Fletcher family had clearly mastered the art of concealment. The private detention area, though aged, was impressively sophisticated. She considered adopting a similar design within Remson Manor.
âWait,â Serena whispered, treading carefully along the path. Each time they arrived at a new location, she thoroughly inspected it, checking for any hidden traps before giving Samson the go-ahead to continue.
Samson glanced back at Serena with a taunting look as she moved to inspect the area again. âDo you really think thatâs necessary?â he asked. âIâve been right here with you. If there were any traps, Iâd be at risk too. Itâs not like I have a death wish to share with you.â
Without waiting for her to finish her checks, he marched ahead.
Harlee and Rhys shared a knowing glance and followed Samson without hesitation. Serena started to speak, but Patrick intervened.
âTrust Harlee. Sheâs got this under control,â Patrick reassured Serena with an encouraging smile.
Serena gave a tense nod. She trusted Harleeâs judgment, yet her anxiety persisted.
Robbie offered a comforting pat on her shoulder. âYouâve known Harlee long enough. Arenât you familiar with how she handles situations? Just relax. Weâre in good hands.â
Accepting his words, Serena continued onward.
Beyond the narrow corridor, Samsonâs hand caressed a stone wall in the secluded prison. A section of the wall slowly receded, unveiling a luminous cave with a staircase descending into the depths.
âValentin is aware of the Fletcher familyâs secret routes too. To keep him from escaping, Iâve had to confine him somewhere only I know,â Samson explained with a sly smile, casting a provocative glance at Harlee.
Harlee responded with a slight downward glance and a subtle smirk. It appeared the dayâs challenges were destined to extend underground. âYouâve set the stage for your own undoing? Excellent,â Harlee said, giving Samson a thumbs-up and linking arms with Rhys as they approached the staircase, descending one step at a time.
