Chapter 59: ~58~Mr. Huntington

OverprotectiveWords: 13732

It has been about two weeks since Grayson told me he liked me. And honestly, he hasn't stopped trying to convince me that I need to be with him. He has said it so much now that I was starting to think he was personally sent from someone to make me fall for him.

I searched around the house for Jason to ask him a very important question. I hadn't seen Liam in so long that I was starting to think our whole relationship was a dream.

I found him in the kitchen facing the stove. It smelled really good so it was obvious he was cooking something.

"Can I see Liam today?" I asked. Straight to the point. I just needed to see him.

"Um, you're still grounded," he said without even turning around. My entire face dropped. I knew that I was just hoping he would forget it. "But, I need to see him. I haven't been able to text or talk to him for at least two weeks! You guys wouldnt even let me go to the cafe anymore."

I sat on the stool and waited for him to say something. He sighed and turned around to face me. The tongs were still in his hand from turning the chicken over and he had a little bit of grease on his forehead.

"I know I said you could see him once you asked us, but that was meant to be after you were ungrounded," he said.

"And when is that supposed to be?"

"Not for a while Lisa." I groaned and banged my head on the table. "Don't do that," he said sternly. I internally rolled my eyes.

"But, please can I see him?" I asked. If he wouldnt listen to me, I would have to force him into submission. I did my best puppy face that I knew almost always worked on him.

I could practically see the wheels turning in his head as he looked at me. He closed his eyes and turned around again to tend to the chicken. Alright then. I got up from the stool and hugged him from behind. "Please, Jacey?" I asked hugging him tighter using his childhood nickname.

Something was bound to get to him. He wouldnt be able to withstand my cuteness for much longer. "Stop, Lisa," he groaned throwing his head back. I smirked knowing that my tactics were working.

He put the tongs down and turned around. I looked up at him and gave him the best puppy face I could muster. I really hoped I didn't look crazy. "Fine," he said. I jumped up and down with excitement and hugged him again.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you," I said hugging him again.  "But, you can go after you get your cast off," he said. I nodded excitedly. As long as I got to see him. I was getting my cast off at 3 pm today and I was so excited.

Over the weeks I became used to it. It was like another part of me, but that doesn't mean I liked it. I was more than eager to get it off.  "Which means you should probably start getting ready. We leave in half an hour," Jason said.

"I nodded and left the kitchen. On the way to my room. I could hear Justin shouting from his room about his videogame. I swear he must actually think that the characters are real people. They are pixels. They only do what you tell them to do. Besides he was probably playing Fortnite again.

I walked into my room and quickly changed with the lights off. When I get back home today I will be completely free of this portable arm prison. I'll admit I am a  little nervous to see what my arm looks like underneath. It hasn't seen the light of day in 6 weeks.

From what Dylan and Justin have told me it won't look good at all and that was a little worrying.  But despite that, I still happily hopped down the stairs and sat on the living room couch.  Nobody else was home, besides Justin, Jason and I.  Justin and Jason were both preoccupied, but Jason's work was more important. So that only left one person for me to bother until it was time to leave.

I got off the couch and went back up the stairs to Justin's room.  When I walked in, I found him looking out of his window with confusion on his face. His game was paused, yet he still had the controller in his hands.

"What are you doing?" I asked sitting on his bed. Per usual his bed was unmade and the comforter was everywhere. He quickly moved away from the window and grabbed me by the wrist. "Look," he said gesturing out the window.

I gave him a confused look and looked out the window. I don't really know what he expected me to see, besides some squirrels playing around the trees.  "Uum, what am I supposed to be looking at?" I asked

"It was just there," he mumbled under his breath. "Someone was just there," he said louder. "What?" I asked questioningly. "Who was it?"

"I don't know. I didn't get a good look at them. But they were definitely the same person I saw before." I squinted up at him. Justin was very well known for his pranks, for all I know this could be one of them. Part of me believed him, part of me didn't.

"I swear, I am not pranking you," he said defensively. "And how am I supposed to know that. You always prank me. I wouldnt be surprised if Dylan popped up somewhere trying to scare me or something," I said shaking my head at him.

"Are you really going to ignore the fact that we have been stalked before and we have a crazy Mom and Dad? This could be very related to that."

"Dads not crazy," I found myself saying. I didn't know I was going to say that or why. It's just like I had to defend him. Justin sighed and rolled his eyes.

"I am telling you. I saw someone in our yard. Just like I did a couple of weeks ago. I am not crazy." With how serious he was being I was starting to believe him. He did bring up some good points. "Okay, then we should tell Jason," I said.

"Yeah." he quickly threw his controller on the bed and left the room. I followed him as he went down the stairs and to the kitchen where Jason was sat at the counter on his phone. "Ah just in time. Justin, I need you to throw the garbage out-"

"-I am not going outside." Justin quickly cut Jason off shaking his head. "Justin, I am really not in for your attitude today-"

-"No that's not why. And I never have an attitude!" Justin exclaimed defensively. I rolled my eyes because just like that he already forgot he was down here. Jason raised an eyebrow at him. "Really?" he said expressionlessly. Justin didn't say anything because he knew it was true.

"Now can you please throw the trash out, or else I will have to make you do it," Jason said with a smirk on his face.

"No, Jason there is someone outside and I think they are stalking us," Justin said. Jason sighed and placed two fingers on his temples. "What do you mean stalking us?" he asked. "What I said is exactly what I meant," Justin replied.

I flicked him on his arm. And he wondered why he always got a talking to about his attitude. "Sorry, but can you please check?" Justin asked pleadingly. Jason nodded and stood up. "Stay in here," he said walking out of the kitchen.

We just waited silently for him to come back inside. 5 minutes later and we were starting to get agitated. I was also starting to worry. What if there was actually someone and Jason go hurt? "What if Jason got hurt?" I asked voicing my thoughts.

Justin glanced at me then started for the door. "What are you doing?" I asked grabbing his wrist. "I'm going to see what happened."

"But we can look out the living room window," I said but he was already gone. I swear he only selectively uses his brain. I reluctantly followed him outside where I saw Jason standing on the sidewalk talking to...our neighbor? Mr. Huntington.

His back was faced towards us but when he heard the door close he turned around. It looked like he swore under his breath before turning back to Mr. Huntington.

"Is that him?" I asked Justin. He nodded, studying him closely.

"Yeah, I am sorry. It's a huge misunderstanding. You know kids these days with their imagination," Jason said.

"Is he serious?" I whispered to Justin. Mr. Huntington glanced at us a couple of times before producing one of the fakest laughs I have ever heard. "Yeah, must be yeah. Anyway, I will be on my way then," he said before quickly turning around and briskly walking away.

I furrowed my eyebrows at the action. All in itself it was extremely weird. When Jason turned around, he did not look happy. "I told you guys to stay inside," he said grabbing both of us by our ears. "Ow!" Justin and I both said as Jason dragged us inside.

"I told you to stay inside," he repeated letting us go once we arrived at the living room. "Okay, okay we are sorry," Justin said rubbing his ears. "So what happened?" I asked also rubbing my sore ears.

"I don't really know. He said he lost his dog and came in our yard to look for it since he claims he saw it go in this direction."

"And you believed him?" Justin asked.

"No."

"I literally hate my arm right now," I said aloud as Jason, Justin and I were leaving the doctors. "What do you mean? It's normal for it to look like that after getting out of a cast," Jason said briefly glancing at me.

"Nah, That's not normal. It looked like mashed potatoes. At that point it's not even an arm anymore," Justin said from the backseat. I turned around and went to hit him when Jason pulled me back down.

"Keep seated. I'm breaking the law by letting you sit up here in the first place."

"But, Justin keeps making fun of it," I whined slouching in my seat. "Oh, stop being a baby," Justin said. I was tempted to turn around and hit him but one look from Jason made me change my mind.

That's okay. I will just wait until I get home.

"So how long do I have to keep this on for again?" I asked Jason. I looked down at the wrap that was on my arm. It was just a simple blue cover and wasn't restrictive at all. I don't even really know why I have to wear it, but you know, the doctor knows best.

"For about two weeks. Then you will be free," he said laughing at my eagerness. I didn't want to have this on, but I would prefer this over the cast any day.

We finally arrived home to see Dylan and Jacobs car in the driveway. "Ugh, why did they have to be home?" Justin groaned throwing his head back. Jason laughed and turned off the car. "If I didn't know any better I would think you hated them?" he said.

We all got out of the car and followed Jason up the driveway. "That's cause I do," he mumbled. "Aww, but you love me," I said slinging my good arm over his shoulder. He shrugged it off and glared at me.

"Especially not you," he said. I scoffed and walked over to Jason. "Fine, whatever, I don't like you either. As a matter of fact. Jason is my favorite brother," I said hugging Jason. Jason chuckled and pulled out his key to unlock the door.

"No, he is not. You just told Jacob the other day that he was," Justin said. I looked up at Jason and laughed nervously. "Whatever, that's not the point."

"Wow, I am genuinely hurt Lisa," Jason said walking inside. "You all are my favorite, except for Justin. Cause he is mean," I said glancing at Justin. "So are you," Justin retaliated.

"No, I am not."

"Yes, you are."

"I am not."

"You are."

"OK guys. You both love each other now hush," Jason interrupted. I rolled my eyes and walked into the living room where Jacob was. "Ay, no more cast," he said noticing my arm. "Yeah, I told you I was getting it off today," I said.

"Oh I forgot," he said sheepishly. "Oh well, where did you go today?" I asked snuggling up to him. He started playing with my hair, which was always soothing. "Uh I just went to meet someone," he said.

I sat up and turned around so that I could see him better. "Is this someone your secret girlfriend that you won't tell us about?" I asked wiggling my eyebrows. "Stop doing that. And I am not answering that question," he said.

I scoffed and playfully hit him. "Come on. You guys made me tell you about Liam. Why won't you tell me about her?" I asked. "That's different sweetie."

"Not really," I said turning away from him. "You aren't upset are you?" he asked turning me around. "Well of course I am. You won't tell me about your secret girlfriend-"

"-She's not my girlfriend."

"So there is someone then?" I asked. I wasn't too sure, but now he just confirmed it. "You're too smart," he said sighing. "Well, it didn't really take a rocket scientist."

"Her name is Lexie. She works at the movie theatre half an hour from here."

"When did you meet her?" I asked. He gulped and laughed nervously. "That last time we went to the movies," he said. "All that time?!" I shouted. "Shh," he said looking around. "Don't shh me. I think I have a right to shout right now!" I said not even bothering to lower my voice.

"I'm sorry okay? I just wanted to see where things would go before I told anyone. And I assure you, you would have been the first to know," he said looking at me. That made me feel a bit better.

"Okay, so when do we get to meet her?" I asked looking up at him. "Not for a while," he said laughing. He must have thought I was kidding. I decided to let it go for now. "Anyway, can you come with me to see Liam? Jason already said it was okay," I asked. I had been wanting to see him all day.

I couldn't contact him for obvious reasons, so I just hoped he was at the cafe. "Yeah, let's go. You know, even though I just got home," he said sighing, but I could see a small smirk behind it. "Oh, whatever. That's what you get for not telling me about your love interest sooner."

He chuckled and got his keys off of the kitchen counter. "Alright, let's go."
