Chapter 57: ~56~Graysons Confession

OverprotectiveWords: 15030

Its been an entire week since the whole Liam incident and none of my brothers have said a word about it. Grayson also hasn't been over, which was weird in itself. I mean he practically lives here.

Everyone was currently outside playing. It was a Saturday and I was still grounded of course. So I couldn't go anywhere. I still didn't have my phone and I also didn't expect that to come anytime soon.

Jacob and I were just watching the boys play in the pool. I couldn't play in the pool nor did I want to. I looked over at him to see him still on his phone. I was glad that he spoke to me. I don't know how much longer I could have gone with him ignoring me.

Flashback

I was laying on the couch watching whatever show that was on. Well, I wasn't really watching it. More so just staring at the screen. It was 9 pm and Dylan and Justin were at the store getting some more videogames I presume.

Jason was in his office doing some work and I had no idea where Jacob was. I assumed he was just in his room.

I could feel my eyes starting to droop from the sleepiness, but I didn't want to sleep. Every time I went to sleep was one day longer that Jacob was mad at me. I didn't want it to keep going on like that.

I heard footsteps coming down the stairs and I tried to make myself seem as awake as possible. If it was Jason, and I looked tired he would send me to bed. I tried to tune into the show that was on, which was actually Spongebob. What?

The TV suddenly turned off and I looked behind me to see that it was Jacob with the remote in his hand. "First of all I know you're not actually watching SpongeBob and second, Lisa, you look like a zombie, you should go to bed,'" he said putting the remote up.

"I'm not tired."

I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and watched his movements. He walked over to the couch and sat down on it with a sigh. "Yes, you are. You think I didn't see you trying to stay awake?" he asked cocking an eyebrow at me.

"Well, I am not tired anymore," I said rolling my eyes. I had to use this opportunity now to ask him. He sighed and walked over to me, picking me up bridal style. "Jacob!" I exclaimed. He didn't say anything as he carried me to my room and practically threw me on my bed.

"Hey! Why you gotta manhandle me?" I asked glaring at him. He chuckled slightly and shook his head. "I'm sorry. I was just getting annoyed."

"Seems that's all I do to you now," I mumbled fixing myself on my bed. "What?" he asked giving me a look of confusion. A moment of silence passed before he sat near my foot on my bed. "What are you talking about?" he asked again.

I sighed and looked up at him. He seemed genuinely confused. "About you ignoring me. Ever since you found out about me sneaking out with Liam, it's like your still mad at me. I mean I get it, but like no one else is still mad at me. It's just you and I don't know why?" I finished.

"Wait? All this time you think I have been ignoring you?" He asked looking at me. I nodded and started playing with the bracelet on my wrist.

"Oh, I'm sorry Lisa," he said running a hand through his hair. "I didn't mean for it to come off like that. I just got....caught up in my own feelings and I didn't think about yours."

I slowly looked up at him, not sure if he was being sarcastic or not.

"I'm being serious. Why didn't you come to me?"

"Because I thought you were genuinely still mad at me. And I wanted to but I was scared," I said looking up at him.

He looked a little upset at that and sat next to me on the bed, resting his arm on my shoulder. I cuddled into his warm embrace.

"You shouldn't be scared to talk to me and I'm not mad at you...anymore. When you told us about Liam, I was over the moon angry. Then he came over for dinner and I didn't like him even more. Liking him would mean I had to accept that you were getting older and that you would date."

He stopped what he was saying and turned towards me. "I'm not ready for that Lisa. You dating would mean you would have someone else out there to go to. Someone other than one of us. And call me selfish, but I don't want that."

There was a short moment of silence. "That's what's been bugging you?" I whispered. He nodded. "So basically you don't like him, because you think he is going to steal me from you?" I asked.

He nodded once again. "I know... I know how it sounds." He said with a dry chuckle. No one can ever replace you guys," I said looking up at him. He gave me a small smile, then his face suddenly turned serious again.

"So, Jason and I have been talking about it, for while now," he said. I furrowed my eyebrows at him. He cleared his throat and continued. "I still don't like him, but Jason has decided to give him a chance."

I waited for him to say he was joking or something, but his face remained monotoned. "Wait? You're serious?" I asked, a smile starting to make its way onto my face."Yeah." I was so happy to hear that. It was such a relief. "Thank you, thank you!" I said hugging him. He hugged me back, tight.

He didn't have to like him right away, but at least this would give him the chance to warm up to him. "But I swear to God Lisa, if he even so as to hurt you in the slightest, you tell me, okay?" he asked pulling out of the hug. I nodded. A huge smile was still on my face.

"And I mean in the slightest. If you even have a dream, where you think he hurts you, come and tell me," he said. "You're going a little overboard," I said. "No I'm not," he said kissing my forehead.

"I love you."

"I love you too," I said back.

End of Flashback

I covered my face when water suddenly splashed me. "Hey stop!" I screamed as the freezing cold water splashed all over me. "I swear Dylan!" Jacob shouted shooting up from the chair. "Come on, you guys are being losers. Just sitting there like ducks," Justin said bringing out a second hose.

"You're wetting my cast, Justin," I shouted trying to dodge the water. "Aww that's too bad," he said. "Jason make them stop!" I screamed. He was just wading in the pool with a stupid smile on his face. "Nah," he said.

"Okay okay I'll stop," Dylan said when Jacob tackled him. Justin followed and turned his off, in fear that he would be next.

"This is the second time you have ruined my cast, within ONE day," I said glaring at Dylan and Justin. "Oh you'll live," Justin said laughing. "Oh and guess what Jacob?" Dylan asked. Jacob raised an eyebrow at him. He had taken off his shirt and was just in his sweats. Lucky him, I couldn't just change out here.

"Lexie says hi," Dylan said with a smirk. "You piece of-" Jacob started as he picked Dylan up and threw him into the pool. "Whose Lexie?" Jason asked from the pool.

"No one."

"His girlfriend," Dylan said once he resurfaced. I gave Jacob a look and he just looked away. Oh, so that's how he is going to play? I was honestly a little mad at him. "Oh is that right?" Jason asked. He was just lounging on one of the pool chairs like this was some sort of comedy show for him.

"Shut up," he groaned walking inside. "Wow, now everyone is dating in this family," Justin said. "We know you will be lonely forever. You can accept that," Dylan said. He was just floating on his back in the pool. "Um, you're still dating Eva?" I asked. I don't remember the last time he has spoken about her.

"Yep," he said. "Hmm. That won't last much longer," Justin mumbled. "Why don't you bother Jason?" Dylan asked getting out of the pool. "Cause he knows I'll beat him up," Jason commented.

Justin scoffed. I raised an eyebrow at him. "Are you really going to dispute that?" I asked. "Whatever, Lisa. I should bother you more often."

"You already do!"

"Not enough."

"Whatever. I am going to change now. No thanks to you two." I said glaring at Dylan and Justin. "Hey, we made you have fun," Dylan said. "What kind of logic is that? You had fun. I didn't."

"Sure you didn't."

"Don't get my floor wet!" Jason shouted as I walked inside. I was tempted to shout' shut up' to him but decided against it. But...I decided to wet the floor anyway. I played on the ground and started rolling all over the floor leaving wet marks everywhere. I just felt like being petty.

I got up satisfied with the mess and saw Jacob standing by the stairs with a weirded out look on his face. "What...what were you doing?" he asked.

I cleared my throat. "Um, nothing." Then I walked around him and went upstairs. "Who am I even related to?" I heard him mumble to himself.

I quickly changed and went back downstairs, just in time to see Dylan and Justin slip on the floor. "What the-?" Dylan said rubbing his head. I laughed out loud at their faces. "Why did you guys get the floor wet?" I asked innocently. "I swear my feet were dry," Justin mumbled to himself. His confused face made it even funnier.

"No, you idiot! This is her fault," Dylan said standing up and pointing to me. He suddenly started chasing me around the house. "Come here you little brat. I probably have a concussion now," he said still chasing me.

"Dylan stop!" I screamed as he almost caught onto my shirt. Just as Dylan was about to grab me, Jason picked me up. "Okay you two," Jason said placing me behind him. "That's enough. Dylan, your head is fine. And Lisa," he said turning to me. "I think you have some cleaning to do," he said raising an eyebrow. I sighed but still held a grin on my face.

"How do you even manage that?" he asked gesturing to the living room floor. "You should have seen her," Jacob said slinging an arm around Dylan. "Where are we going?" Dylan asked in a nervous voice. "To talk about some stuff. Don't worry," Jacob replied but his face said otherwise.

They left for up the stairs and Jason gestured for me to start cleaning the floor. "It was fun while it lasted I guess," I mumbled grabbing the mop."You're really gonna let the one armed person mop the floor?" I asked looking up at Jason who was now seated on the couch on his phone.

"Shouldn't have made the mess," he said not even looking up. "But it was their fault," I said gesturing to Justin who was just staring outside. "Justin, help her," Jason said. Justin didn't say anything and kept staring outside.

"Hello? Assistance needed," I said. He still didn't acknowledge me. "Surely you didn't hit your head that hard?" I asked walking to him. "Justin, you okay?" Jason asked looking up from his phone.

He finally snapped out of it. "Yeah...I thought I saw someone out there," he said gesturing to our backyard. "What do you mean?" Jason asked standing up and walking over to us. "Over there by the trees," he said. Jason looked out to where Justin said for a solid minute.

"I don't see anyone," he said. He then examined Justin's head. "I don't think you hit your head very hard," he mumbled. "I didn't hit my head," Justin said swatting Jason's hand away. "Come on Justin. It's probably the neighbors," I said handing him the mop.

He surprisingly took it, without saying anything. "Neighbors that live in the trees?" he asked with a deadpanned expression. I shrugged and slowly started to leave. "Nope, Lisa get back here," Jason said.

"Jason," I whined. "Chop, chop. Justin if you think you see someone else just tell me," Jason said leaving the living room. "You're going crazy," I said. "Shut up...and why am I mopping the floor. This was your mess," he said handing me the mop. "Yeah, but you were the one that soaked me so technically, it's your mess," I said handing the mop back.

"No, it's your mess."

"No, it's yours."

"No, it's yours."

This went on for about an entire 3 more minutes before Jason came down the stairs. "You know what? I will clean it up." Jason said taking the mop from us. "Insolent children," I heard him mumble. I shook my head at Justin before going upstairs.

The doorbell rang just as I reached the top of the stairs. Great. Now I had to go all the way back down to open it. "Lisa get the door!" someone shouted from the kitchen. I walked past the kitchen to see that it was Dylan. "Do I look like a maid to you?"

"...yes?" he said like it was the most obvious thing in the world. I decided to ignore him as the adult I am and opened the door. I was a little surprised to see that it was Grayson. He quickly pulled me outside before I could say anything.

"I like you, Annalisa. Like a lot. And it took me the longest time to tell you this. That's why I haven't been over and I didn't really know how to say it. I don't want you to be with some other guy. I want you to be with me. I have always liked you and I know you like me too. "

Speechless.

I had no idea what to say to that. The usual funny, sarcastic, cocky, jerk, rude- any way you get it. Grayson..wasn't being Grayson. He liked me. I couldn't tell if this was a joke or not. He looked very serious about it. He was so close to me and his eyes were searching mine. As if looking for the correct answer. His correct answer.

"Lisa, where did you go?" I heard Dylan asked. He was walking towards the door and Grayson quickly moved away from me. "Oh, sup Gray," Dylan said once he walked outside. Grayson's entire attitude changed once he saw Dylan. "Hey bro," he said. They did their bro hug and went inside "Lisa, close the door," Dylan shouted.

I was still standing outside, in the same place, frozen. What am I supposed to say to that? How am I supposed to react to that? Couldn't he have just kept his mouth shut? Then I wouldn't have had to worry about it.

I shook my head and went inside. Dylan and Grayson were talking in the kitchen. I made it my goal to run as fast as possible past the kitchen so I would not have to come in contact with him. "Lisa, can you get my phone?"

"Get it yourself!"

I ran into my room and closed the door. "Okay, okay. We can be calm about this. It's no big deal. It's probably a joke anyway," I said to myself. I was trying to calm myself down. "What are you saying?" Justin asked from my bed. I gave him a shocked expression. "Why are you in my room,"I asked.

"Um why not?" he asked. I rolled my eyes. "Nothing." I had bigger things to worry about. I needed to see Liam quick. I had to have some sort of contact with him. I needed that getaway, that break from reality, that I always felt when I was with him. I needed it now more than ever.
