Chapter 55: ~54~Liam

I was laying on my bed doing absolutely nothing when Justin, Dylan, and Grayson barged into my room. "Alright, Lisa, start explaining," Dylan said moving my feet and taking the spot. I groaned and buried my head into my pillow.

"I thought we were done with this," I said into the pillow. Dylan picked me up and turned me to face him. "No, we aren't because you still haven't told us who Liam is," he said looking at me.

"What do you mean? I told Jason," I replied. "Well, that's not us. so you need to tell us," Grayson said. I looked up at him and furrowed my eyebrows. "Why do you even care?" I asked. He glared at me, which was a first. "Just tell us who he is, and where we can find him. You know what,  just tell us a name and we will do the rest," Dylan said cutting Grayson off.

I rolled my eyes. "Why tell you, if you are only going to hurt him?" I asked. "Welp there is that," Justin said about to leave. Dylan pulled him back and turned back to face me.

"For heaven's sake, Lisa you aren't allowed to date," Dylan said.

"But I thought you said you didn't care that much."

"I was being sarcastic."

"And what are you going to do if I don't tell you?"

"We are going to stay in here and annoy you all day," Grayson said smirking at me. Justin perked up at this and started jumping up and down excitedly. "yes, we finally get to the good part," he said.

"Last chance, Lisa," Dylan said. We had a small staring contest before he stood up. "Fine, have it your way, but just so you know you will be telling us who he is before the end of the day."

"Fine! Fine! His name is Liam. He is the guy who works at the cafe down the road!" I shouted wiping the syrup from my eyes. At first, they were just being annoying and bothering me, then half an hour later, which I am surprised I even lasted that long. They came in with a small bucket of syrup and dumped it on me.

I didn't even have time to see what happened.

Dylan and Grayson smiled an evil smirk. "Thanks for telling us. We didn't have to go down this route, but you are very stubborn," Grayson said. I glared at him which only made him smirk more.

"Ugh, you guys are so annoying," I said. What was I going to do about my cast now? It was covered in syrup!

"Good now we are going to chat with him, we will be back," Dylan said about to leave the room. "Wait!" I said standing up from the bed. "Please don't do anything bad to him. He is a really nice guy. And he makes me feel happy. Don't you want me to be happy?" I asked looking at all of them.

They all stayed quiet just looking at me. It was starting to get awkward honestly. Grayson's mood changed quickly as he glared at the ground. "You don't need a boyfriend," he said as he left the room. Justin followed him out leaving only Dylan.

"We do want you to be happy, Lisa. Just not with some guy we don't know. Not with any other guy.  But I guess you are evolving out of your toddler body-"

"Just shut up," I said cutting him off.

"For what its worth Lisa, He hasn't gotten our approval, so there is no way you can even think about wanting to date him," he said.

"So if you guys approve of him, then I can date him?" I asked with a spark of hope. "You can't date Lisa. Not until you are at least 20," he said with a semi-serious tone. I rolled my eyes and looked away from him.

He sighed and there was a moment of silence. "Fine, I will think about it," he said. I immediately perked up at that. He left before I could even say anything else. If there was a chance I could freely date Liam, I will be beyond happy.

"Whos going to clean my room?!" I shouted out the door once I remembered that my room was a mess. "You are," someone shouted from downstairs. I closed the door and rolled my eyes. There was syrup all over my bed covers, my floor, and my cast. I would have to go to Jason about that.

I decided to take a shower first. I would have to deal with my room later. I changed into some comfortable sweats and a tank top and went to find Jason. I'm pretty sure he would have a second one for me to change into.

I found him outside working on one of the cars.  I walked up to him just as he slid out from underneath it. He squinted his eyes to look up at me. "Lisa, what are you doing?" he asked standing up.

I gestured to my syrup covered cast which he laughed at. "It's not funny. It's all over my bed and floor and it took me the longest to get it out of my hair," I said glaring at him. "Why did they do that?" he asked wiping his hands off on a towel.

"All because they wanted me to tell them about Liam. They wouldnt leave me alone about it," I said.   "Oh, so that's where they went?" he asked looking down the road. "They said they were going to the shop," he mumbled shaking his head.

"They are going to do something bad to him, or threaten him or something," I groaned out. I glared at him once again as he chuckled. "I'm sure if he is a good guy they won't have to."

"Whose side are you on?" I asked looking at him. "No ones. I can see that they are just trying to make sure you are safe. I am too," he said slinging an arm around my shoulder and walking inside.

"It doesn't seem like it. Seems like they are just trying to torture me," I said as we walked up to the stairs and into Jason's bathroom. He hoisted me on to the sink counter and left to get something.

He came back in a couple of seconds with some more blue wrap. "When did you get that?" I asked. I didn't remember the doctor giving it to him. "I got it a few days ago. I somehow knew something like this would happen," he said chuckling.

"It isn't my fault though," I whined. "Can you like, ground them?" I asked. He raised an eyebrow at me and I sighed. He began unwrapping the first layer off of my cast. "I wonder what my arm looks like right now?" I asked as it had not seen the light of day for a little while.

"Probably looks like mashed potatoes," he said laughing. "Seriously," I asked looking up at him. "What?" he questioned innocently.  I watched as he unwrapped the colored layer off of the cast. I could just see the white of the cast now.

"When can I take this off again?" I asked examining the cast. "In about a week," he said. "That's so far though," I mumbled. "Suck it up, buttercup," he said wrapping the clean wrap around the cast.

I looked up at him. "Are you still mad at me?" I asked. He stopped wrapping the cast and looked up at me. "No. I wasn't ever mad at you. I was mad at what you did, yeah, but not you. Besides if I was I couldn't stay mad at you for long," he said.

"That was sort of confusing."

"No, I am not mad at you," he said smiling at me. "But, Jacob is," I said looking away from him. Jason sighed and finished the last of the wrap. "Listen, he was just worried. He will come around," he said kissing my forehead.

He helped me down from the counter and discarded of the old wrap. "There, all clean. Now please try not to get anything else on it," he said looking down at me. I glared at him as he laughed and walked out.

I contemplated going to Jasons room but thought I should just give him some space. So I went back to my room instead.

Dylans POV

"Do we even know if he is working there today?" Justin asked from the backseat. We could have walked there as it was not that long of a walk, but we wanted to get there faster so that we wouldnt miss him.

"No, but if he isn't there today then we will come back tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that," I said. "Hhm ok. Can we hurry it up though? I have a Fortnite match to get back to," Justin said.

"Then why did you come in the first place?" Grayson asked briefly glancing at him. "Duh, same reason as you," Justin replied like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"So what if we find out that he has bad intentions? What are we going to do then?" Justin asked. I groaned and rolled my eyes. "Just wait until we get there and then ask the questions," I said. "Don't tell me what to do," he mumbled in response.

I swear I just want to punch him sometimes. We finally got to the cafe and it was more busy than usual. Not that it was super busy in the first place. We got out of the car and started to walk in. "So what does he look like? Like all we know is that he works here, but that could be anyone," Justin said.

"I've already gotten that figured out," Grayson said. "Is there a Liam in here?!" he shouted. Everyone became silent and looked at us. A boy at the cashier looked at us and raised his hand. Grayson nodded and we all walked towards him.

"You know, we should probably order something while we're here. That double Sunday looked really good," Justin said looking at the menu. I don't even know why he is here.

"We need to speak with you," I said as calmly as I could to Liam. Most of me just wanted to punch him and tell him to never talk to Lisa again, but somehow I don't think that would go well.

He looked over to the cashier next to him. "Can you take over?" he asked. She nodded and he followed us outside.

"Look, I already know what this is about. Did Lisa tell you about us?" he asked. I was a little shocked that he was the one that went straight to the point. "What do you mean, us," Grayson asked.

"Well, it's not official yet, but-"

"You're not making anything official," I said cutting him off. "We don't even know you. And you expect us to just let you date her?" I asked. "Look, I get wanting to protect your little sibling and all, but Lisa can make her own decisions," Liam said.

I could see Grayson simply glaring at him and his knuckles was beginning to turn white. Meanwhile, Justin was staring at one of the ducks in the pond. "No, she can't. She is only 14 and you're how old? 16? What are you trying to take advantage of her or something?" Grayson asked.

Liam sighed and briefly closed his eyes. "No, I am not. I really like her and I am pretty sure she likes me too. I have no intentions of hurting her," he said.

"And how are we supposed to know that?" I asked. I was starting to lose my patience a little with him. And I could tell Grayson was feeling the same way. He shrugged. "You're just going to have to believe me," he said. Grayson scoffed.

"That sounds ridiculous," he said. "You know our oldest brother is a cop?" Justin asked briefly looking at Liam before looking back into the pond. "he is really good friends with the chief. The chief is practically family to us. Sooo if you do something to hurt my little sister, that won't end well for you. At all," he finished.

Grayson and I both raised our eyebrows at Justin. "Alright, can we leave now. I really want to play another round of Fortnite," he asked looking at me. "Go wait in the car," I said waving him off.

I turned my attention back to Liam, who was just standing there. "I hope you remember all of that," I said. There was an awkward silence for a little and I had time to think about some things. He didn't really seem like a bad guy, but that still doesn't mean that I like him.

Grayson was just standing there glaring at him and I could tell, Liam was getting more and more uncomfortable. "Why don't you come by for dinner?" I asked looking at him. "If you are as trustworthy and honest as you say you are, then you shouldn't have a problem with coming by," I said.

Grayson looked at me with a shocked look. "Wait! Are you serious?" he asked. I briefly nodded before looking back at Liam and waiting for his answer. "Okay," he said. "Good well then you can come tonight," I said.

He looked a little shocked at the sudden offer but quickly recovered. "Yeah, I can make it."

"It wasn't an option anyway," I said. "If you're going to ...date my sister then you better make an impression better than God himself," I said. I walked away before he could say anything else.

Grayson followed and we got in the car. "Are we seriously even thinking about this?" Grayson asked. "What did you do?" Justin asked leaning forward from the backseat. I pushed his face back and started the car.

"Nothing. I just decided that maybe I should give it a chance. I don't know. I'm trying to think about what Lisa would think if we just...disregarded him," I said. Neither of us said anything for the rest of the ride home.
