Dekh mohabbat ka dastoor

Tu mujh se, mai tujh se door

Tightly clutching the comforter to her body, Mishal took a deep breath. She was shivering with cold and she had a fever.

"Mishal- kyu drama kar rahi ho. Agar khana nahi khaugi tou dawai kaise khaugi. Fauran ye soup khatam karo. Warna hamse bura koi nahi hoga," Her mother scolded her and her lips pursued into the pout.

(Why you are acting up? You can't have food until you take the medicine. Finish this soup right now or else you will face my wrath)

"Ammi- hame sach mai kuch khaaya nahi jaayega. Har cheez beswad lag rahi hai. Ham baad mai khaa lenge," Mishal whined.

(I can't have it. Everything seems tasteless. I will eat later)

The knock on the door disturbs their conversation. Hayder was standing there looking at her with concern.

"Sab theek hai?" Hayder asked as his intense gaze was making me nervous.

(Everything is alright?)

"Hamari baat maanne ke liye tayyar hi nahi hai. Kuch bhi nahi khaa rahi hai. Tum hi dekho isse," Her mother glared at her.

(She is not ready to listen to me out. She is not having anything. Please handle her)

"I will handle her," Hayder shoots her a glare.

Yaha par sabko ghoorne ke elawa kuch kaam nahi hai, Mishal thought as her lips pursue into the pout.

(Everyone loves to glare at me here)

She heard the sound of the door locked. A shiver ran down her spine when he sat on the edge of the bed all while his gaze was fixed on her.

Hayder touched her burning forehead and his jaw ticked.

"Mishal- maine aaj tak itni laparwah ladki nahi dekhi. Zara bhi khayaal nahi hai tumhe khud ka. Na sahi waqt par khaana khaati ho. Na sahi waqt par soti ho. Mai kya karu tumhara?" Hayder glared.

(I have never witnessed a careless girl like you. You don't even care for your health. You don't have food nor you sleep on time. I don't know what to do with you)

"Ham mar tou nahi rahe haina," Mishal pouted.

(I am not dying)

"Aainda aisi fuzool baatein tumhare munh se bhi nikli na, tou samajh lena mai tumhara kya haal karunga," Hayder said as he took the plate from the table.

(If you dare to think about it like this then you don't have an idea what I will do with you)

"Open your mouth," Hayder ordered as he slowly took the morsel to her mouth.

She chewed the food slowly while fidgeting with her fingers.

"We will visit the doctor tomorrow," Hayder informed her.

"Gynecologist?" Mishal asked in a joking manner but a single glare from his shut her up.

"Sudhar jao, Mishal," Hayder said in a displeased tone.

(Mend your ways)

"Bass ho gaya. Hamara sahi mai pait phat ne laga hai," Mishal said in a dramatic tone.

(It's enough. I am full)

"Mishal," He warned.

"Aap hamari itni fikr kyu kar rahe hai? Aisa lag raha hai ke ham pregnant hai," Mishal huffed and his eyes widen.

(Why you care about me so much? It feels like I am pregnant)

"Wo bhi tum jaldi ho jaugi," Hayder smirks making her cheeks red.

(You will be soon pregnant)

"Allah, aap kaisi besharam jaisi baatein karte hai," Mishal tch.

(How shamelessly you talk)

"Bol kon raha hai," Hayder scoffed.

(Look who is saying)

After finishing the food, Mishal gulped down the medicine.

"Thoda aaram karlo," Hayder caressed her cheeks.

(Take some rest)

"Please stay with me. Ham ko dar lag raha hai. Ham ko lagta hai ke hamare room mai jinn hai. Uss din achanak se light band ho gayi thi. Hamari tou phat gai thi," Mishal clutched his arms tightly as she spoke those words.

(I am scared. I feel like jinn is present here. A few days ago, the bulb went off by itself. I was so damn scared)

"Language," Hayder raised his eyebrows at her last sentence.

"Ham jhoot nahi bol rahe hai. Ham so jaayenge tab chale jaayega," Mishal said and he hesitantly nodded his head.

(I am not lying. You can go after I sleep)

Hayder sat on her bed and pulled the comforter over her petite figure. Mishal put her head on his shoulder and clutch his arms tightly afraid to let them go.

"Aap bohot acche hai," Mishal smiled and put her other hand on his thigh.

(You are very good)

Hayder let out a groan as he was stiffened by her single touch.

"Aapko kya ho gaya hai? Itni ajeeb awaaz kyu nikaal rahe hai aap," Mishal asked with a worried laced in her tone.

(What happened to you? Why you are making such weird noises?)

"Kuch nahi hua," Hayder pinch the bridge of his nose as he let out a heavy sigh.

(Nothing)

Mishal didn't realize when she fell into a deep slumber. Hayder slowly caressed her cheeks with his thumb as he placed a soft kiss on her forehead. Her arms were wrapped around his chest while his hands were wrapped around her delicate waist. He nuzzled his nose in the crook of her neck enjoying the warmth of her body.

Their first cuddle.

The next morning, she woke up in his arms. Blood rushed to her cheeks and she bit her lips in embarrassment. His hands were wrapped around her waist while his hot breath was fanning her neck. Mishal looks at his facial structure closely. She lightly runs her fingers at his jaw and placed a soft kiss on his cheeks.

Her cheeks turned beetroot red and she moved away from him. She did all her chores and splash the cold water on her face. She had a sudden urge to puke her guts out. And she emptied her stomach.

Mishal came out of the washroom after taking the warm bath. Hayder asked about her health and she answered.

"Ham aapko kya bataye. Hamara sar mai itna dard hai. Bhukaar tou utar gaya par hamara pait dard kar raha hai. Bohot ulti ho rahi hai," Mishal said in a frustrated tone as he was caressing her hair.

(What should I tell you? I have a severe headache. Fever is no more but I am feeling pain in my lower abdomen. I am feeling the urge to puke my guts out)

"Abhi tak tou maine kuch kiya hi nahi," Hayder said as a smirk played on his lips.

(I didn't even do anything yet)

"Hain?" Mishal raised her eyebrows in confusion.

(What)

"It must be medicine overdose reaction," Hayder said as he changed the topic.

"Tum aaram karo. Mai tumhare liye naashta bhejwata hoon," Hayder said caressing the back of her palm.

(Have some rest. I will send breakfast for you)

"Aap room ke bahar aise jaayenge," Mishal gulped as she noticed his appearance.

(You can't go like this)

His white shirt was wrinkled while the top few buttons of his shirt were undone. One of the buttons was missing giving anyone the wrong ideas of what happened last night.

Hayder chuckled when he realized what she meant.

"My stupid wife," He kissed her cheeks as a genuine smile was playing across his lips.

"Mishi, kya ho gaya tumhe? Ammi bataa rahi thi ke tumhari tabiyat kharaab hai," Faiz asked as she sat on the dining table.

(What happened to you? Mom told me that you are not well)

Hayder passed her the glass of orange juice and a toast.

"Bass hamari tabiyat bohot kharaab ho gayi thi. Ham ko subah se kai dafa ulti ho chuki hai. Upar se sar mai bohot dard hai," Mishal said in a dramatic tone and Hayder rolled his eyes at her words.

(I was not well. I vomited few times in the morning and I had a headache)

Ayaan and Faiz looked at each other with shocked expressions as their mouth gaped open.

"Aise aankh phaad kar kya dekh rahe," Mishal said in a hesitant tone as she narrowed her eyes at them.

(Why you both are so shocked)

"Hayder Bhai came only a few days ago and..." Both of them were cut off by Hayder glared.

"Shut up. Yaha sab ek se badh kar ek hai," Hayder said in a displeased tone as he glared at both of them.

(Everyone is so irrelevant here)

Hayder stands up and fixed his sleeves.

"Tum teeno sudhar jao warna mujh se bura koi nahi hoga," He pointed his fingers at them and Mishal eyebrows furrowed.

(You all better mend your ways or no one will be worse than me)

"Ab hamne kya kiya?" Mishal whined.

(What I did now)

"Aap apna munh band rakhengi tou sab par bohot meharbaani ho jaayegi," Hayder said in a sarcastic tone.

(It will be better if you shut your mouth)

After he left, Mishal let out a grumbled sigh.

"Dekhle aap log. Har waqt guess chada rahta hai inhe. Hame tou lagta hai ke inki bipolar personality hai. Matlab kal raat pyaar bhari baatein kar rahe the aur aaj hame daant rahe hai," Mishal huffed making her brother's eyes widen.

(See him. He always seems to be grumpy. It seems like he has a bipolar personality. He was all lovey-dovey last night and now he is scolding me)

Amaan, who just entered the dining room hit her lightly on her head.

"Mishal-zara mahaul ka hosh rakha karo. Miya biwi ki baatein room tak rahe tou behtar hai," Amaan scolded her as he sat down for the breakfast.

(You talk without thinking twice. It will be better if you will keep your personal affairs to your room)

"Hain? Aap log ke mijaaz tou bilkul hi badal gaye. Aap hi ne tou kaha tha ke ham aap log se kuch bhi na chhupaye," Mishal pouted and they all smack their forehead.

(What? You all are changed. You were the one who told me that I shouldn't hide anything from you all)

"Aap log hi samjhae isse. Nahi pata kab akal aayegi," Faiz said in a displeased tone as he moved away from there.

(You all deal with her. I don't know when she will become mature)

≤≥≤≥≤≥

"Ramsha- koi nahi maanege. Tum hamare bhai ko jaanti ho na. Din dahade hame ghar se bahar nikalne nahi milta, raat ke function kya khaak aane denge. Ab tou hamne umeed hi chhod chuki hai. Kahi bhi jaana hota hai tou bhai ke saath jao. Kuch bhi chahiye tou bhai ko bolo," Mishal pouted as she was explained her condition to her friend.

(They won't agree. You know my brothers well. They don't even let me leave the house in the daytime and you think that they will let me go to the function of the night. I just lose all the hope. I have to go with my brothers wherever I go. I have to ask my brothers for whatever I want)

"Yaar, Mishal. Ek raat ki tou baat hai. Mai tumse waa'da karti hoon ke ham dono 12 baje se pehle ghar par honge. Bohot maza aayega, mishi. Just imagine.  This party is held by our seniors this weekend and you are specially invited. Tumhe aane hi padega. Yaar, meri ammi ne bola hai ke agar tum nahi jaaugi tou wo mujhe bhi nahi jaane dengi. Sab tumhaare haath mai hai. Koi bahana bana lo, Yaar. Kisi ko pata nahi chalega," Ramsha whined.

(Man, it's just a matter of a single night. I promise you that you will be home before 12. It will be fun)

(Man, my mother told me that she won't let me go if you won't go. It's all in your hands. Make some excuses. No one will come to know about our plan)

"Bahana? Ham kya bahana banayenge?" Mishal let out a groan bumping her fist on the table.

(Excuse? What excuse I will make)

"Mai tumhari ammi se baat kar lungi. Sabse kah dena ki tum padhai karne ke liye aa rahi ho mere ghar. Ham dono wahi se party mai chale jaayenge. Accha sa dresses final karlo. Ham dono bohot maze karenge weekends pe," Ramsha said making her excited.

(I will talk to your mother. You tell everyone that you are coming to my place for studies. We will go to a party from my place. Finalize your dress. We will have fun on the weekends)

"Ham bohot excited hai," Mishal chirped in excitement as she ended the call.

(I am so excited)

After the dinner, Mishal starts searching for an elegant outfit for the party online.

"Have you taken your medicine?" Hayder asked as he entered the room.

"Haan," Mishal lied while her eyes were glued to the laptop.

(Yes)

"Pakka?" Hayder raised his eyebrows.

(Are you sure)

"Jee. Aap ammi se puchh le," Mishal let out a sigh when she realized that he's convinced.

(Yes. You can ask mom)

"Kya kar rahi ho?" Hayder asked as he sat on the bed beside her. He wounded his arms on her waist making the tingling sensation appear in the pit of her stomach.

(What you are doing on your laptop)

"Aap kya kar rahe hai?" Mishal stuttered when he nuzzled his nose in the crook of her neck.

(What are you doing)

"Tumhe nahi pata mai kya kar raha hoon?" Hayder raised his eyebrows as the smirk was playing on his lips.

(You don't know what I am doing)

"Allah. Aapko tou bahana chahiye hamare nazdeek aane ka," Mishal said in a hesitant tone as a tinge of red appeared on her cheeks.

(You just want a reason to come near me)

"Koi takleef hai kya tumhe? Biwi ho tum meri. Meri marzi mai tumhare kitne bhi kareeb aau. Mere elawa agar kisi ne tumhe aankh utha kar bhi dekhna tou mujhe nahi pata mai kya kar baithunga," Hayder said in his deep voice which was filled with love and possessiveness for her.

(Is there any problem? You are my wife. I can come near you if I want to. I don't know what I will do if I will ever saw someone looking at you that way)

"Ohhhoo. Someone is possessive," Mishal smirked.

"Mishal- sudhar jao. Tumne accha khaasa mood kharaab kar diya. Tumhe har waqt kuch bolna hota hai. Ab mai sukoon se apni biwi se pyaar bhari baatein bhi na karu," Hayder said in a displeased tone as he was too annoyed by her immature behavior.

(Behave properly. You just spoiled my mood. Do you always have to say something? Now I can't talk have some love talks with my wife)

"Pyaar bhari baatein? Kasam lele aap hamse. Aaj tak aapke munh se pyaar ke do alfaaz nahi nikle hai. Aap tou hame har waqt daante rahte hai ya tou har cheez se tokte rahte hai. Matlab baithe bithaye khoobsurat biwi mil gayi hai tou qadr hi nahi hai," Mishal huffed.

(Romantic talks? I can swear that you had never had a romantic talk with me. You are scolding me and stopping me from doing the things that I like. You got such a beautiful wife and you don't even care)

"Kabhi mauka diya sukoon se baat bhi karne ka? Har waqt tou tumhara dimag uss taraf rahta hai. Duniya bhar ke fuzool baatein jaanne ka shauk hai par kabhi shohar dil ke haal jaanne ki koshish ki hai. Kabhi ye jaanne ki koshish ki hai ke mujhe kya pasand hai?

Mere dil mai kya hai?" Hayder asked with sincerity in his tone as he looked into her hazel brown eyes.

(You have never given me the chance to speak with you and share with you about what's in my heart. You want to know about all the rubbish of the world but you don't feel like knowing what's in your husband's heart. Have you ever tried to know what I like? What's in my heart)

Mishal was beyond stunned at his words. She didn't know how to react. She slowly put her hand on the left side of the chest making him froze. She laid her head on his chest and his breathing became erratic.

"Aapke dil mai kya hai, Hayder?" Mishal asked in a low yet soft tone as she was looking at him with pure adoration and love.

(What's in your heart?)

A faint smile flicks across his lips as he lightly caressed her silky wavy hair.

"Tum ho mere dil, Mishal. Mera sukoon ho tum. Meri chahat ho tum. Mere dil ki har ek khwaish ho tum. Meri jaan ho tum," Hayder whispered in her ear while his fingers were running down her shoulder.

(You are in my heart. You are my piece. You are what my heart craves. You are every wish of my heart. You are my soul)

Chills ran down her spine as his words hit her. Her cheeks were turning heavier with each passing second. She was triggered by a wave of emotions and passion.

Mishal eyelashes flutter as she looked up at him with pure and raw emotions reflecting from her eyes. Her fingers lightly brush over his stubble jaw as he placed a soft kiss on his cheeks. Hayden was stiffened at her actions.

"Aap bohot acche hai," Mishal smile while fidgeting with her fingers.

(You are a good person)

It was the time where they were behaving like the normal couple.
